Whilst video gaming sales have boomed dramatically through 2008 and are set to continue doing so during 2009, Nintendo are scrupulously observing the market and public buying trends.

In a recent interview with the popular Japanese newspaper, The Yomiuri Shimbun, Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata further backed up claims that a large majority of young consumers are delegating money for video gaming, instead of other causal past-times such as eating out and watching films.

Nintendo’s ultimately surprising decision to leave out the GBA slot on the forthcoming Nintendo DSi left many concerned; after all there’s a bountiful amount of triple A titles on the ageing system.

Thankfully GameDaily.biz stepped up to question Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime regarding this frankly frustrating decision. Sadly as per-usual Reggie Fils-Aime’s answers regarding this situation weren’t exactly satisfactory:

Consumers always adapt pretty easily to new technology, and I have no doubt they will do the same with Nintendo DSi. Game Boy Advance fans can always fall back on their GBA or older Nintendo DS systems when they want to dip back into their GBA libraries.
