Nintendo DSi – Gamestop Taking Nintendo DSi Pre-orders

Confirmation regarding the release date for Nintendo’s forthcoming DSi was announced today, with Nintendo announcing it’ll finally be releasing the long-awaited console in the United States, April 5th.

Not to be left out in the cold, Gamestop, the popular American video games retailer, has announced today that it’s starting to take pre-orders for the  Nintendo DSi  from tomorrow. The shiny new unit will cost you $25 to pre-order, and will apparently guarantee you a console on the day of release.

Nintendo Wii: Bioshock Or Another 2K Franchise Coming To Nintendo Wii?

Bioshock, arguably one of the best games of 2007, could be coming to the Wii if a recent job listing is to be taken into consideration.

The position that’s been advertised by 2K games is a UI (user interface) programmer, preferably one that has had prior experience developing for the Wii.  Whilst that doesn’t automatically mean we could see the next iteration of the Bioshock franchise on Wii, it does suggest that 2K games have something brewing in the pipeline for the console.

Today’s Wii Shop update tantalizingly hints at a surprise coming for retro games enthusiasts.

Nintendo issued a teasing press release this morning which accompanied today’s Wii Shop update. The press release features numerous teasers as to what the aforementioned ‘fun surprise’ could be.

In other news, the Wii-kly Update has a fun surprise coming soon for all our fans. We can’t tell you the secret just yet but maybe we’ll offer you some hidden clues. From AZ to NC, if you’re a fan, your applause could rattle your walls, windows, door. You might enjoy this news whether you live in a brick house or Vanderbilt dorm. Even people living along Route 286 in rural Pennsylvania ought to be excited. It’ll feel like a bunch of birthday greetings and, really, who could ask for more? But that’s about all we can say for now, so be sure to check future Wii-kly Updates.

Online gaming publications have been racking their collective brains together and have concluded that it’ll be the arrival of Commodore 64 games to the Wii Virtual Console, something that’s been expected since February last year.

Bury’s ‘Age of Opportunities’ event is celebrating its second birthday and what better way to do it than invite guests who’re over fifty to test drive Nintendo’s user-friendly Wii?

Nintendo DS: Nintendo’s Next Casual Game Is Delayed

Nintendo’s forthcoming effort to entice causal gamers to the Nintendo DS has been delayed in Europe.

Walk With Me which incorporates Activity Meter pedometers to gauge how long users have walked for has been delayed indefinitely in Europe. Nintendo have yet to comment further on a tentative release date and there’s no word as of yet to whether Walk With Me will suffer a similar fate in the United States.

Nintendo Wii: Resident Evil Producer Hints At New Exclusive Wii Resident Evil

Masachika Kawat, producer of the Resident Evil franchise has informed online gaming publication Eurogamer that he wishes to create a new Resident Evil title solely for Wii.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Kawat mentions that whilst he personally understands Wii owners despair that Resident Evil 5 didn’t surface on their beloved console, but they definitely shouldn’t dismiss the developer just yet.

Nintendo: Exclusive Nintendo News Coming Soon?

Subscribers of the Official Nintendo Magazine received an email today stating that there’s a delay with the next issue as it’s set to contain “exclusive content”.

No word has surfaced as of yet to what this ‘exclusive content‘ might actually be, but as ever, the Internet is ablaze with speculation ranging from a new iteration in the Pilotwings franchise to Nintendo’s next big ‘casual’ title.

Nintendo: Nintendo Plans New Research Development Base In Japan

Nintendo plans to strengthen its R&D operations by creating new research and development facilities in Kyoto’s Minami Ward.

The new facility will allow Nintendo to further develop its forthcoming hardware and software, as the company prepares itself to report record-high sales of 1.82 trillion yen in the fiscal period ending March 2009.
