Whilst it’s not been decided whether or not the prices will be hiked for the British consumer, retail outlets will undoubtedly be discontent that they’re paying more for the console at trade than they ever have done before.

Nintendo Wii: Wii MotionPlus Facing Possible Delays

According to online publication, IGN, Wii MotionPlus looks as though it’s facing development issues.

The Wii peripheral was originally scheduled to be released in June alongside Wii Sports Resort, which subsequently fell off Nintendo’s release schedule for 2009. Now IGN are stating development problems of the peripheral is to blame, whilst the number of games featured on Wii Sports Resort has been reduced from ten to eight.

Nintendo Wii: The Conduit Will Use Wii Speak Peripheral

High Voltage, the developer behind the eagerly anticipated first person shooter, The Conduit, have confirmed that the title will utilize Nintendo’s Wii Speak device.

Whilst it’s been confirmed that the title won’t support the forthcoming Wii Motion Plus, it has been confirmed to support Wii speak, the peripheral that allows you communicate with other players.

Concept artwork from Ubisoft’s original Red Steel 2 envision has emerged.

The new artwork sheds some light on the futuristic locations that were sadly never meant to be, as this is the version that Ubisoft ultimately decided to cancel. Instead, we will be getting a completely new game with brand new locations courtesy of Ubisoft’s Paris division, which will see release sometime later this year.

One of the most bewildering decisions by Nintendo regarding its DSi console was the decision to enable region locking on the system.

After all, the Nintendo DS allowed gamers all over the world to explore niche oddities from other territories, rather than being locked down to play games from their specific region.

Nintendo’s David Yarnton attempted to explain the unwelcome decision to The Times, where he squarely placed the blame on the different game ratings used through the world.

There are many different age requirements with games around the world. I’ve been involved with the industry body, and we’ve just had the Byron review, so it’s quite topical. As an industry, we are trying to take a responsible stance in that area, to make sure that we have people aware of what content they get, and that there is a certain amount of protection.

Nintendo Wii: Pikmin Wii Franchise Could Make The Leap To DSi

Shigefumi Hino, the project leader behind the much-loved Pikmin franchise believes the DS would be a suitable platform with which to release a new iteration of the hit series on.

Speaking to online gaming publication, Gamepot, Hino claimed that the Ds has “unique advantages” when questioned about a suitable control mechanism for the series, which he subsequently believes ‘would be ideal’ for the Pikmin franchise.
