Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, openly stated that “it’s hard to say something nice about the PS3″ when he was quizzed about Nintendo’s relentless competitors.

Whilst he wasn’t altogether too enamoured with the PlayStation 3, Reggie did however cite Xbox Live as an online platform that concerns both him and his companions over at Nintendo.

Nintendo Wii: Wii Sales Slow Down But No Sign Of Possible Pricecut

Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, boldly proclaimed that “the Wii is in the most unhealthy condition since it hit the Japanese market”, however, despite the initially gloomy outlook there’s still no planned price-cut for the innovative video games console.

“A price cut in a difficult economy cannot really excite the market and drive up sales. As of now I really don’t think that a price cut is a good option for us.”

Nintendo marketing executive Cammie Dunaway is set to take centre stage again for this years E3 event.

Whilst a small minority of Nintendo fans will be disheartened to hear that the slightly eccentric Cammie Dunaway is set to head Nintendo’s presence at E3 2009, she personally believes that this years event is all about one thing, and one thing only – the games.

“Well, because, I’m going to be up on stage presenting, something that your fans ought to love, but I’m not gonna snowboard, I’m not gonna show my mother’s day card. I’m just going to talk about the games.” And smile! A LOT.

Those of you hoping for another perilous adventure involving Fox McCloud may have a lengthy wait ahead of you.

Starfox creator, Dylan Cuthbert, recently sat down with gaming publication G4 to discuss the possibility of another Starfox related adventure for the Nintendo Wii. What become quite apparent during the interview was Cuthberts reluctance to work on a future iteration of the series for the Nintendo Wii, as he primarily citied the Wii controller and staffing issues as the major factor behind the disappointing decision.

Research has proven that playing the Nintendo Wii can help tackle the growing rise of obesity in the United Kingdom.

Researchers in Nottingham, England believe that giving away Nintendo Wii’s to family’s with overweight children will allow them to reach the recommended levels of physical activity that they need on a daily basis.  The project has been assembled by Nottingham Trent University and the NHS who believe the health benefits of Wii Fit could be enough to entice overweight youngsters into doing daily exercise.

Nintendo Wii: EA Claims Wii MotionPlus Is Over Responsive

EA have told technology website, TechRadar, that the forthcoming Wii motion Plus is unbelievable accurate and at times over responsive.

Speaking to technology publication TechRadar an EA Sports representative gave his impressions on how well Wii MotionPlus works in comparison to the motion sensing techniques of the Wii Remote.

“At times it’s overly responsive. It had so much fidelity that at times we have limited that fidelity to make it a compelling experience and giving you full total control.”

The American DSi store is set to open for consumers, Sunday, and will include a new Brain Age title.

Brain Age: Express Math is as you’ve correctly guessed a maths related game which sees gamers immerse themselves in all sorts of new and old brain training exercises. The training game also comes with a newly fledged Themes mode which allows users to experiment with both images and voice recordings courtesy of the DSi.

Video gaming emporium, Game, have stated that orders for the Nintendo DSi have doubled those of the DS Lite during the pre-release phase.

With the Nintendo DSi poised to launch in both the United States and the United Kingdom, figures have come through assuring Nintendo of a highly successful hand-held launch.

The figures which came from respected UK retail outlet, Game, categorically state that pre-orders for the Nintendo DSi throughout its chain stores have successfully doubled those of the previous incarnation, the DS Lite.
