I’ve had this theory ever since they mentioned making a 1:1 movement peripheral XD I don’t think they’d do it with Mario. Not yet, at least. Maybe on Wii’s preceedor, since it’s going to have the motion capture cameras.

If all this speculation is true, let it be known that you heard it first on Sickr.A first person Zelda would send gamers flying out if their seats.Why stop there.Nintendo could make a first person Mario if they wanted, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

you’re not giving N as much credit as they deserve. First off, remember what Miyamoto said. “Zelda Twilight Princess will be the last Zelda game of it’s kind.” In short, no more third person gameplay. First-person seems to be the most obvious choice for N, since they’ve got WiiMotionPlus lined up. As for the size of the game and possible graphic sacrifices; just remember what N did with Brawl. It took them more than the usual timeframe to make that game, right? Well, look at the new Zelda for Wii. It’s been 4-5 years in the making now. As it looks to me right now, the next Zelda will be a first-person swordplay game (much like Labyrynth on DS), with all of the original Zelda items avaliable for use plus some new items. Also, I can see the next Zelda to be the second game on Wii that’d be on a dual layered disc. Furthermore, since Zelda TP is still $10 more than any other Wii game (in Canada at least), I’d expect the next Zelda to be $10 more as well, especially since N is putting out the money to do dual layered discs. Is the wii even capable of handling this game? I mean COD5 couldn’t do coop so that is probably out here, and I would hate to see what sacrifices will be made in the graphics department.

After seeing what Nintendo could do with the Metroid franchise in first person, the next Zelda being in first person wouldn’t be that much of a stretch.

I’d imagine the next iteration of Zelda would fully incorporate Wii MotionPlus. The shape the game will take however is still a baffling mystery. Much speculation has been made regarding whether or not it’ll be first person adventure rather than the standard third. Can’t wait to find out… :)

I do wonder if they would put out a Zelda requiring MotionPlus. That would get the peripheral numbers up which would encourage other developers to make games for it.

well, Wii Sports Resort would be that Wii Fit sequal (kinda), and we already know about spirit tracks. At least if we got a 25 second video for the new Zelda at least. It’s been almost 3 years since TP’s been released T.T
