Nintendo have just released System Update 4.2 for the Nintendo Wii.
Although System Update 4.2 offers little in the way of new surprises it does provide many behind the scene updates that will not affect features but will improve overall system performance.
Sega firmly believe that Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is going to be ruling the top spot in the UK gaming charts this Christmas.

Whilst many gamers are clamouring to play the latest instalment of the Resident Evil franchise on Wii, Capcom say that isn’t to be.
“I think, while Resident Evil 4 is a great game, its appeal was limited somewhat to maniac players,”

According to online gaming publication, Siliconera, the Wii Classic Controller Pro could be heading to America.
Koei, the developers behind Samurai Warriors 3, have mentioned the Classic Controller Pro twice in their recently published fact sheet. Looks as though the developer wishes to bundle it with Samurai Warriors 3 when it finally arrives in the States.
Denise Kaigler, Nintendo of America vice president of corporate affairs, has stated that the recently announced Wii price cuts weren’t influenced by similar moves by its competitors.
“We were not driven by any other factors but our own business decision to do this. As I mentioned, this was timed to take place exactly when we’re executing it. The holiday period is the best time for us to offer this great incentive for these consumers on the sidelines.”
“We’re about to launch a couple of very strong titles. We announced yesterday the launch date for Super Mario Bros. Wii. We just launched Wii Sports Resort. On October 4, we’ll launch Wii Fit Plus. Nintendo have seen fit to cut the price of the Nintendo Wii by 20% in both Japan and the United States.
These official price cuts will be rolled out on the 27th of September in the United States, with Japan and Europe following on the first two days of October. Prices in the United States and Japan will be cut by 20 percent.
New Super Mario Bros Wii has apparently been given an official release date for both America and Europe.
The highly anticipated 2D platformer is set to make its début in the United States on November 15th and will subsequently be released in Europe, November 27th.
Square Enix CEO, Yoichi Wada, expects Nintendo to release its natural successor to the Wii in 2011.
Yoichi Wada recently sat down with the Financial Times to discuss the current state of gaming consoles. His overall opinion was that Nintendo will release a new console in 2011 to bring it more in-line with both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The chances of Rare striking a deal with Nintendo to bring the classic Goldeneye to the Wii Virtual Console is looking extremely slim.
