Nintendo Wii: Metroid: Other M Fails To Ignite UK Sales Chart, For Now

Nintendo’s recently released Metroid: Other M for the Nintendo Wii has failed to set the UK all-formats sales charts on fire with the well received action packed title making its début at number twelve.

With a large advertisement campaign running on British television to promote the title it seems a little bewildering as to why the title hasn’t charted higher, especially since its one of the best Wii releases this year.

  1. It IS surprising, I guess some of the other games released at this time topped it. It doesn’t matter what a few countries thinks though, Other M is awesome… And what about the sales on other locations? It may be they just were unlucky over at UK.

  2. They actually advertised a lot for this. Usually I won’t see any adverts for major Ninty games, but I actually saw an Other M commercial. o _ o

  3. I suspect it must be the fact that they released it during a time when people are preparing to return to school etc and that’s what may be affecting sales?

  4. Maybe it just correlated to the fact, that some dumps of “metroid other m” have been floating around the net, and this already happened a few days before its official release.

  5. I’m currently playing through it, and I’m loving it. I had it pre-ordered, and it came to me via FedEx on launch day. Showed up not long after I got home from college too, which was perfect timing. :D

  6. Thats right you stupid media journalists…. Start reporting a game flops at sales by looking at charts of a week which got released on a sunday while the game came out only 2 days before, and then the people are even more stupid and imidietly believe that. This game most definatly didnt flop. It will be a million seller and a sequel is already as good as reality.
