Nintendo Wii: Sonic Colors Will Be ‘As Good As’ Classic 2D Sonic Games Says Sonic Team

Sonic Team have boldly proclaimed that the forthcoming Sonic Colors will be every bit as good as the Sonic games of the 90′s.

“The team think they know the problem (with 3D Sonic games) but the reason behind it is because those games in 3D didn’t live up to the expectation of the fans.

“In Sonic Colours, the team looked back at previous Sonic games and looked at the pros and cons of each title, and they hope they have addressed all the goods and bads in Sonic Colours.

“We believe that this Sonic game is as good as or even better than the 2D Sonic games.”

  1. Well from what I saw of the trailer Sonic Colors is basically a reskinned version of the Sonic Unleashed day stages. And those were fun, it was the werehog crap that ruined the game. I do believe I heard that the game was going to be marketed towards kids which will probably mean a lot of flashy content and levels designs which basically corral (sp) you to where you need to go, which isn’t bad. From what I’ve seen so far Colors looks like it will be a nice fun easy game, and I don’t think we’ll have to worry about another Werehog incident what with the gimmick already being partially revealed (those colorful blobs > Chip).

I wonder if they will release it as Sonic Colours here in Canada

Oh wow firefox spellchecker thinks that isn’t a word.

  2. I’m going to hold them to that. i’m sure from all the “failed experiments” from other gameplay styles in 3D Sonic games (playing as anyone other than sonic) that the speed factor is what has made the game. Craft the difficulty and strategy around that and I’m sure they’ll come out golden.
