Nintendo president Satoru Iwata explained to gaming press at yesterdays press conference that the company wanted to release the 3DS in time for the Christmas season but they wouldn’t have been able to produce enough consoles to meet worldwide demand.

Hmm. Yeah, it probably would be better to wait until there are plenty of units for sale. What’s the use in selling it during Christmas-time if they’ll be sold out in a day or so? They learned their lesson from the Wii I suppose.
I hope this means there won’t be a shortage like there was with the Wii
It’s ok. I’m willing to be patient… Sort of…
i think it was a wise decision , i had to wait about a year after the wii realease to find one. So if this means me getting a 3DS on day 1, im cool with it
Nintendo’s new problem: Production.
Is this possibly linked to the new Made in China marks on newer consoles? There’s no direct evidence, but it sure is strange.
Yeah it’s best to wait, I’m sure millions would be sold! Many would have them in their hands then be short
If they of the pushed the release date sooner they wouldnt be able to put final touches on it now maybe we will see trailers for it in 3d movies

At least they acknowledged that the holiday season would’ve been the best time to release it and didn’t come up with “What? The American holiday season? Nonsense, the tax season is better!” Fear of a shortage is a good reason to push it back. Looks like a wise decision now.
yeah it would have been cool…but I don’t really care because now it will be released close to my birthday! :D so I have te perfect excuse!
lol i’m so lucky that when the wii came out i got it on day 1 without a preorder LOL!…sure I looked for it from like… 1 pm to 4 pm LOL i don’t know why it was so easy for me while evryone else was busting their asses off to get one…I guess the universe loves me xDD
