Peter Dille, SCEA’s senior VP of marketing has told online gaming publication CVG that he wishes Nintendo the best of luck with the 3DS as he sees the handheld increasing consumer interest in 3D.
“Our perspective is they are doing something different and that’s what Nintendo does,” said Dille. “They’ve got their own view, Sony has their own view. Our hope is they do it well because we’re big advocates of 3D. We need consumers to have good 3D experiences.
“I actually haven’t seen much of their technology. I know people are excited about it. I’ve heard a little bit that if you move your head a certain way you might lose the image,” he added.
“I just hope they do a great job, building a great 3D platform so people are interested in other 3D platforms. Because, collectively, we need to make sure a consumer has a good experience with 3D however they’re experiencing it so they have an interest in more 3D.”

How does Sony have their own view? All they do is rip off Nintendo. Oh wait, that is their view. Watch Sony come out with the 3DPSP in 4 years.
They only wish them luck because they know if it’s successful people are going to be looking further in to 3D then start purchasing some of their products like 3D tvs etc.
Only those 3D products that don’t require the use of glasses. I don’t think Sony has anything like that yet.
I’m sure Sony are working on that, I can’t remember who i think maybe samsung, have already made a 3D tv that doesn’t require glasses using the same technology as the 3DS.
Sony said something about Nintendo that isn’t slander!
I think this may be a sign of the apocalypse.
yeah i was thinking hell is probably freezing over right now lol
So you don’t need glasses for this? I wonder how it will work.
The 3DS? You don’t know what that is? Just search “parallelix barrier 3DS” in google and boom, you have it. BTW, they (Toshiba) have made TV’s with the tech; but to have comfortable viewing angles they need 8 parallelix barriers for a 30 degree viewing angle, and the largest they’ve been able to make is 27 (or 29 can’t remember) inches. And it’ll be sold in Japan for about 5000 dollars. So ya, this only works for handhelds. That’s why Sony hasn’t come out with a 3DTV with no glasses.
“They’ve got their own view, Sony has their own view.” Whaaaat? Sony doesn’t have an own view.
Anyway nice to see Sony is NOT bashing Nintendo for once.
Sony does have a view, namely:
“Everyone else sucks, while we are flawless and amazing.”
Nice to see sony saying this, I rather have mario kart 3ds than black ops anyday!
Sony has there own view?hahah what about the crappy wii-mote rip off? wach sony make a fail copy of 3d after the 3DS release
what??? that was a wii mote rip off??? !?
i thought it was a dil–

Competitors can be friendly too or maybe it is a marketing strategy?
It makes perfect sense why Sony wants the 3DS to sell well, even if its main goal is to outsell Nintendo. From what I’ve heard, more people are WAY more excited about 3D tech in the DS than Sony’s TVs and games.
Still, there are some hesitations, “but if anyone can do it right, it’s Nintendo.”
Dille said as a division of Sony has their pens hovering over their notepads, waiting to write down features they should copy and “improve upon”.
That’s basically what he said in the full article. :P
The best Sony can say when their not trolling Nintendo is make somewhat sarcastic comments.
This was very mature of Sony to do. I suddenly have more respect for you, PlayStation. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to play LittleBigPlanet. Actually, I think I’m gonna play New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Sorry Sony!
Love the small jab, they can’t just praise.
” ‘I know people are excited about it. I’ve heard a little bit that if you move your head a certain way you might lose the image,’ he added.”
heh……. this is soooo sweet of sony -_-
