Nintendo 3DS: Miyamoto Hints That The Nintendo 3DS Could Be Used As Nintendo Wii 2 Controller

Shigeru Miyamoto has told online gaming publication Gamekyo that there’s a possibility that the Nintendo 3DS could be used as a controller for Nintendo’s successor to the Nintendo Wii.

Speaking at a Nintendo 3DS event in Paris Shigeru Miyamoto explained that Nintendo have been looking at the possibility of connecting its next home video games system with the recently released Nintendo 3DS.

[He] did say that one possibility was for the 3DS to be used as a controller for the machine.

Nintendo 3DS: New Flipnote Studio Title For The Nintendo 3DS

Legendary games designer Shigeru Miyamoto has quietly revealed that Nintendo are hard at work creating a brand new Flipnote Studio title for the Nintendo 3DS.

Whilst no time frame has been announced, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the superb animation application launch alongside the Nintendo 3DS eShop which is set to arrive some time during May.

Nintendo Wii 2: No Friend Codes For Nintendo Wii 2 (Project Cafe)

Sam Kennedy, director of the 1UP Network, has revealed that Nintendo won’t be using friend codes with the successor to the Nintendo Wii.

Speaking in a recent 1UP popcast Kennedy stated that ‘There will be no friend codes.’ When questioned if he was sure, he confidently replied with a simple ‘Yes’. More information regarding Nintendo’s next console will be be revealed at this years E3 event in June.

Nintendo Wii: The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Launching In October?

The Official Nintendo Magazine have tentatively dated The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword with an October 2011 release in the latest issue of the publication.

We know that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Wii is due for release sometime after The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D which is currently scheduled for release June 17th in the UK and June 19th in North America. Does October sound like a plausible release date to you?

Nintendo: Brand New Pokémon Game Scheduled To Be Revealed In May

If scans from Japanese gaming publication Dengeki Nintendo Magazine are to be believed then it appears as though there will be an official unveiling of a brand new Pokémon title sometime in May.

Whilst it’s not known what system the new game will be for we do know that Nintendo have stated that there’s currently a new Pokémon game in the works for both the Wii and the 3DS. What platform do you guys think it’s being developed for? Nintendo 3DS or the Nintendo Wii?

Nintendo 3DS: Another Zelda Remake Coming To The Nintendo 3DS?

Shigeru Miyamoto has expressed his interest in developing a remake of the highly regarded Legend of Zelda: Link To The Past presumably for the Nintendo 3DS.

Whether or not we will see a Nintendo 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link To The Past remains to be seen but it would inevitably be a huge hit for Nintendo and would go down exceptionally well with the fans.

I think A Link to the Past. Do you remember Xevious? It’s two-layered and I really wanted to create that at the time. So to see Link to the Past in two layers would be quite attractive for me.

Nintendo: Shigeru Miyamoto Says Nintendo Will Focus More On Gaming

Shigeru Miyamoto has told online gaming publication Edge that Nintendo now plans to concentrate its efforts on gaming as the company has been too sidetracked with hardware development.

“I think 3DS is a unique entertainment tool – everyone can understand how it works. One of our next aims is: how do you convey this message? Because one has to play and experience [it].

“We spent a lot of time developing 3DS, for games for the future, so from now on I think we’ll focus more on gaming and we are releasing lots of games this year.”

Nintendo Wii 2: Nintendo Wii 2 (Project Cafe) Coming This Year For $400

Online gaming publication IGN have managed to get hold of some more information regarding Nintendo’s next home console which is currently titled Project Cafe.

Apparently the system will launch late this year somewhere between mid-October and early November. The console is set to retail for$350 and $400 based on manufacturing costs, and will ship from Taiwanese manufacturer, Foxconn.

According to IGN Nintendo are still undecided on the name of their next generation console but they’re considering calling it ‘Stream’ presumably because of the game screen which is reportedly built into the controller.

The console will apparently be around the same size as Microsoft’s Xbox 360 but will look like a modernized version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and will be slightly more powerful than Sony’s PlayStation 3.

Nintendo 3DS: Shigeru Miyamoto Talks Super Mario On Nintendo 3DS

Shigeru Miyamoto recently had the chance to sit down with revered gaming publication Edge magazine to discuss the eagerly awaited Super Mario which is due for release on the Nintendo 3DS some time later this year.

In the interview Miyamoto explained that the game is a “combination of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario on N64″ and will be a playable game at this years E3 event which takes place in Los Angeles in June.

Shigeru Miyamoto was also quizzed about the inclusion of the tail featured in the logo when it was revealed earlier this year at GDC ”The tail you mentioned on the logo – it’s what you think it is. You probably know what’s going to happen using that character.”

Legendary games developer Shigeru Miyamoto has addressed the plethora of rumours floating around the Internet regarding Nintendo’s successor to the Wii which is currently being referred to as Project Cafe.

“Don’t ask! Even when the Wii launched we were developing new hardware, work on 3DS had already started. It’s a matter of when we announce it.”

“Yes, I have read rumours about Café. I want to say it’s normal. You know, for Nintendo, as with the other platform holders, our job is to create new hardware.

“We think it takes five years to do interesting R&D. So, I confess there isn’t smoke without fire. We always build consoles. You’ll never see some of them.

“But you don’t have to trust all the stuff you read.”
