Nintendo DS: MineCraft Unofficially Available On Nintendo DS

The unauthorized adaptation of Minecraft is now available on the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DS version of Minecraft includes a wealth of features including dynamic water, a dynamic lighting system, cave generation, an inventory, and more. Apparently the game was previously in closed beta but is now open for the public to download.

  1. Zomgwtfbbq! Gotta get this now. DS seems like the perfect platform for Minecraft on the go.

And yeah folks Google is your friend :)

  2. You can get it by clicking the “is now available” link instead of searching in google.

I also think that Minecraft is a perfect fit on the DS. You have the world on the top screen and the inventory on the bottom screen. I wish they would make an official Minecraft on the 3DS, though I doubt it would happen any time soon…

      • Wait, WHAT? THE E-READER?! Wow, that is so unbelievably WRONG I barely have words.

To answer the question properly, you need a Flashcart, like the CycloDS iEvolution or Supercard DS2. Flashcarts will allow you to run DS homebrew (and roms, but we won’t discuss that), and many of the newer carts work on the 3DS. (They will only work in DS mode however. The 3DS security has not been cracked as of yet.)

        • So can I use the SD card that came with my 3DS or do I have to buy something? Although I have a micro-SD card too, the one where the littler card pops out the top

    • “DScraft is a DS homebrew adaptation of the popular game Minecraft. At the moment this is a rather complete adptation of “creative mode” (or minecraft Classic), which means there is only exploration and creation in this version. I am planning on attempting to adapt survival in future versions !”

      So far, no. Sorry.

  3. I’ve played it a bit. It doesn’t have too much at the moment but it’s the closest thing to Minecraft on the DS at the moment.
