Nintendo 3DS: PlayStation Vita Ports Could Come To Nintendo 3DS

If the rumour of Nintendo adding a second circle pad to the Nintendo 3DS proves to be true then we could start to see an influx of PlayStation Vita games making their appearance on the Nintendo 3DS according to EEDAR’s Jesse Divnich.

“The days of publishers developing a single game for multiple technologically differentiating platforms are over. Madden NFL 09for example was developed for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP, all of which required at least 4 different internal teams. If the 3DS rumors are true and Nintendo plans to add a second analog stick, it would at least group the Vita and 3DS into the same category. While the technological differences would require additional development resources, more so than when an Xbox 360 title is ported to the PS3 (or vice versa), adding a second analog stick to the 3DS at least make game porting between itself and the Vita possible.”

Nintendo: So, Who Exactly Plays Mario Kart?

“It makes me laugh or feel happy”

“I can play it for short periods of time”.

Nintendo Wii U: Zelda Producer Talks Zelda Wii U

The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has spoken in an exclusive interview with Nintendo Power about the forthcoming Zelda game for Wii U. It sounds as though the game is currently in the very early stages of development but nevertheless it’s great to hear some Aonuma’s ideas.

“I really think [having two screens is] one of the most exciting features of the system. Unlike the Nintendo DS, there’s distance between the television and you and your other screen. That really allows for some different interactions, some of which you saw [at E3]. For example, imagine having the contents of Link’s satchel available to you on the screen of your controller, and using elements of the pouch to interact with gameplay on the television.

With The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, we had the Nunchuck and Wii Remote sort of stand in for the sword and shield that Link carries. But in a game for the Wii U, I can definitely see something like the controller itself becoming the different items that Link is using, allowing you to interact with the game world and with the game items in a very different way.”

Nintendo 3DS: Natsume Is Delaying Nintendo 3DS Games Due To Slow Sales Of The Console

Natsume, the publisher behind Harvest moon, has revealed that it has purposely chosen to delay its Nintendo 3DS titles due to poor sales of the hardware. A Natsume representative stated that the company has decided to delay Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove and Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns, due to the lackluster early sales of the 3DS.

Nintendo Wii: The New Revamped Wii Console Will Have A Price Cut At Retail

UK trade publication MCV has been told by retailers that the newly revamped Wii Unit will go on sale for roughly £79.99. The new console will go on sale later this year in time for the holiday season but has been confirmed that it lacks Gamecube compatibility. The bundle includes Wii Sports, Wii Party as well as a Wii Remote Plus controller and Nunchuck.

Nintendo 3DS: EA Believes PlayStation Vita ‘Has A Better Chance Than The Nintendo 3DS’

EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has told online gaming publication CVG that the company believes that the PlayStation Vita has a better chance than the Nintendo 3DS. Gibeau cited Sony’s combination of innovation, technology and a strong software line-up as the reason behind this.

“I don’t think they’re quite in the same boat as the 3DS… the 3DS was a really interesting piece of technology but I think there was some confusion over it and the title slate was a little different,” he said.

“I think Vita has a better chance because it has a stronger title slate at launch. PSP’s had a great run in Europe as a device, it seems to have reached a much larger audience here than it did in North America. So I think they’ve got a good shot. We’re going to publish a few games on it and see how it develops.”

Nintendo: Is Nintendo Stealing Ideas From External Sources?

01Net is continuing its Nintendo related rumours but this time they’re stating that the Kyoto based company is effectively stealing ideas from external sources and marketing them off as their own. Pretty powerful accusations…

The concept of Pikmin, for example, was borrowed directly from an unpublished RTS (real-time simulation game) proposed by a creators years before the game’s release. Thus, the official story (Miyamoto got the idea for Pikmin by observing animal life in his garden) is just a clever narrative, fabricated for marketing purposes. Mario Galaxy is another example. According to our source, three totally different versions/concepts had been proposed for what was then called “Mario 128”, but none of them made the cut. Nintendo then set its views on a promising prototype it had bought from an external source some time ago, added Mario and its friends, tweaked a thing or two, and… Here was Mario Galaxy!

According to our source, Nintendo is in possession of a gigantic treasure trove unlike any other, so far largely unexploited. This unique policy of colossal investments into game prototypes and game design concepts has to be fully put to use.
