The Official Nintendo magazine has awarded the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword a whopping 98% in the latest edition of the magazine. The Official Nintendo Magazine say that The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword is the “best Zelda game ever made.”
“It’s not something we say lightly, but the Zelda series really has never been this good.”

ocarina of time is better than skyward sword,just for 1 reason.it reminds me the pas but skyward sword will be epic.also i have 2 wiis and 2 wii motions plus i am lucky and mate u can buy a wii if u think that ps3 sucks is chiper than wii then is a big lie.xD:).and one more thing SONY sucks they are copying super smash bros.they must stop this.

Exactly. I know Xiang probably meant he’d like the game button-mapped to the 3DS, but that defeats the point of the game. Given how certain reviewers and Miyamoto would never think of going back to the Twilight Princess or even pre-TP scheme after this, I wouldn’t want to be cheated out of that.

They did.
Most reviews gave OoT a 100%, even though there was a Navi pestering you and there was the famous Water Temple, that annoyed most players. There were bugs, glitches and graphical flaws, as well.
I think it’s fair to say the reviews have become more accurate with time, and tend to take into consideration even smaller flaws, now. The Skyward Sword getting a review this good in today’s standards is definitely something we should acknowledge.

I sincerely hope so. OoT was great for what it was, and better in 3D, but IMO, Zelda could really benefit from a new “Greatest Game of All Time”

There are differing circumstances behind both scores, of course. Like the fact that both games are like thirteen years apart and therefore exist in different times. Ocarina of Time was the first 3D Zelda, and at the time, that was a big f*king deal. If Skyward Sword can get that same score despite being the umpteenth 3D Zelda game…as Jaguar fans would say, “Do the math.”
god, yall read in too much to scores. if ocarina came out right now for the first time exactly the way it was, what score do you think it would get? it has less features, worse graphics, etc. times change, and the zelda games get better in certain ways with every release, which is why this probably will be the best zelda game ever, unless your like my cousin who is stuck in the past and likes the top down zelda games.

Well, that was fairly predictable. Also, I find it interesting they wrote an article telling people what score the game was going to get in the upcoming magazine, seems like a fairly good way to kill magazine sales next month seeing as the most many people care for is the score.
while this is good news, i have to point out that it is from the “official nintendo magazine” meaning its can be considered a form of ass kissing. now when gameinformer, IGN, X-play, and edge get in on this, then we’ll talk.
i have preordered this game and am eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Actually, they seem to overrate many games :S for example they gave Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games a score of 90 and MySims the score of 94… It just takes their credibility away completely.

Actually, I’ve seen this magazine give lower-than-expected scores to some Nintendo games. I think the only common thing this magazine has with Nintendo is the name; aside from that, they’re an independent entity from Nintendo. It’s like Sickr; he posts a lot of stuff Nintendo-centric, but he’s not associated with Nintendo. Also, some of the editors from that magazine can be real bitches.

Yea when it has “official” then a game company after it, take it with a grain of salt. Wait for 3rd party reviews. Most likely they will all be this high, but this is just them hyping up the game. Sony does it with their magazine too.
It’s an independent entity; it’s focused on Nintendo, but it’s not FROM Nintendo. Much like how this blog is focused on Nintendo despite not being from Nintendo.

I think it’s really hard to believe that Skyward Sword is going to be THAT good as OoT. And I’m not a “bookworm” that keep saying “Atari is better than everything else, herp derp”. However, I’m starting to get really excited about this: Nintendo is doing a big hype on the game, and the game itself doesn’t look like it disappoints too! Probably isn’t worthy of a 98%, but for one thing I’m sure: it is a good Zelda game!
