Edge magazine has given Resident Evil: Revelations a decidedly average 6/10 in the latest issue which hits news stands now. Edge isn’t the only publication to award Resident Evil: Revelations an average score with Games TM awarding the game the exact same score. Resident Evil Revelations is out January 27th in Europe and February 7th in North America.

everyone should have their own opinion on each game. just because game X gets a better score from a reviewer than game Y, doesn’t mean X is a better game for everyone else… its possible for reviewers have gay ass opinions from time to time. for example skyward sword got 100s from some reviewers while others gave it 70s and 60s… then who the hell should you listen to? yourself. so unless you think you’re too mentally fucked to have your opinion/tastes, ignore the damn reviews… watching gameplay footage is a great way to tell whether or not you’re interested in the game.
that’s true. I always watch gameplay footage on youtube to see if I like it. My latest exemple is Skyrim vs. Dark Souls. Everybody was talking about Skyrim and all, but I simple loved the gameplay of Dark Souls. So I bought Dark S. and i’m simply loving it. Even if it didn’t got GOTY awards and all that crap.
We’ll be getting a DEMO of Resident evil revelations, so just wait until you play it. =)
Will be interesting to see their reasons behind it. If it’s for the same reasons as that other review (good game, but episodic gameplay on a handheld is bad all of a sudden), then I would disagree.
And I’m someone who hates the whole “zomg how dare they give this a ‘bad’ score when they have played it and I haven’t” craze.

Skyward Sword IS perfect.
Skyward Sword is far from perfect. The final boss and ending were quite disappointing for me, and so many fetch quests. Fetch quests are good in moderation, but this game just had way too many. But I still love this game, and it was my favourite game of last year.

Only Nintendo Power’s rating really mattered to me. I probably won’t pick this game up for awhile though. I just paid off my preorder for MGS3D, so I’ll have plenty to do until I have the money.

I’ll still be getting this on launch day anyway. Been a Resident Evil fan since the first release and I don’t like the direction the series is heading now, but Revelations seems to have got that survival horror feel back again which I have missed. This is the main reason I cannot wait to get it.
Don’t really care for one score of 60 or two. I just went to metacritic and it has three 90s or higher so…there are more people that like it than people that don’t like it. Maybe Edge didn’t like that RERevs is going back to the franchises roots? I would like to see what score they gave to RE5. Fore one, I will enjoy my February playing this game =) See you on Raid Mode!!
Just checked, they gave RE5 a 70. They say its a good game, but it feels like a carbon copy of RE4. So I think they probably like the action RE more than the horror one.

No, I have not played the game, but the reality is that I’ve read enough coverage, seen enough footage, to safely say that thi game deserves way more than a 6 out 10.
For those who keep saying, |OMG I’m not ever getting this game” I hope you realise that certain sites gave Mario Kart 7: 5 out of 10, 6 out 10, etc. So don’t base whether or not you’ll buy this game soleley on two bad reviews. judge a game once, it’s received atleast 20 reviews.
And don’t forget, if thos game doesn’t sell well, why should capcom bother making any more Resident Evils on the 3DS, and for that matter, even bring over Monster Hunter.
So wait a bit, check out the reviews when theres more, and that will most likely entice you to buy it.

If more of these lame reviews come out for this game, then I won’t be buying it at the already ridiculous $50 price tag.
So many people have forgotten that Edge gave Skyward Sword a 10 and now they hate them for this low score. This is the reason I don’t buy games for their reviews. I would have never played Dead Space if I had listened to reviews since it did get a few low reviews, but now I love the games.
My copy of RER is already paid off. I’d like to see tehir reasons as to why they gave it such a low score though. This game looks like an 8 at least, so I’m kind of confused now. I hope it’s not because it’s on a handheld because that would not be a fault at all, just a personal preference. I bet a new RE game is coming to consoles, so a game like this shouldn’t be a problem. People said the same thing about Zelda games; that they’re not real Zelda games because they’re on handhelds.
You guys should also realize that individual reviews are just as bad, if not worse, than professional reviews because of 1) nostalgia filter and 2) elitism.
Again, just as I thought. I was worried this game wouldn’t be too good. I still haven’t seen any zombies in any of the trailers, And not much gameplay either. I WAS worried the game was a whole bunch of beautiful cutscenes and not too much gameplay. Still, I’ll wait till I see the other reviews, And of course, play the game for myself. I’ll ultimately decide if it’s worth the price tag.
…Game Informer gave it a 9…and also awarded it game of the month…so I’m not worried.
Nintendo Gamer(Formerly NGamer) gave it 90/100. And just checking, but aren’t gamesTM and Edge from the same crowd? Or maybe I’m thinking of Retro Gamer.
But it’s the same as every game. Some may like it while others don’t. Like I just finished playing Uncharted 3. And while it was a good game I would probably give it a mark in the 80s.

I’ve never heard of GamesTM but Edge is really critical on games.
If I let the 5 score on Mario Kart 7 & a 6.5 on RE: Mercenaries stop me; I would have missed out on quite a bit of fun. On top of that, I like the playable demo I have. On top of that, not everyone is giving it a bad review anyway (9? Game Of The Month?). Still buying. Still excited.

Forget game CRITICS!!! Imma try the DEMO before I make any decision.
ummmm, resident evil 5 got some mediocre scores, but that didnt stop me from becoming insanely addicted, having to get every treasure, emblem and upgrade. mercs and versus were fun, but i probably played each level out of the game more times than i actually played either of the extra games.
so ya, im prolly gonna skip the reviews for resident evil from now on and just enjoy the god damn game.

You people are ridiculous. What’s the issue if your super-duper anticipated game got an average score from an intense review source like Edge. IMO, reviewers should stick to their guns on the score of a game. And a 6 out of 10 is not even a bad score, they just weren’t blown out of their mind. They feel it’s average. ENd of story
