THQ has finally uploaded some in-game footage of the forthcoming Darksiders 2 which is scheduled to be a launch title for Wii U as well as appearing on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The latest video talks about Death playing a pivotal role in Darksiders 2 as the main character and features plenty of exciting gameplay footage. Wii U is expected to launch after E3 in June.

The wii u is going to be out this summer

Summer seems like an ideal time for the Wii U’s release, but late summer, like August or something. Gives it time to be on shelves for a while and also for Black Friday and the holiday season.

After watching that, I think I’ll move Darksiders up in my backlog, though I still have 5 months to play and finish it.
Again, I noticed the Wii U logo wasn’t included at the end of that trailer. Wonder if that means the logo isn’t finalised since we do know the game has been confirmed as being released on Wii U.
The Wii u isnt finished with its certain steps of its development and is not rated by esbr. Thats why it wasnt in the console list at the end.

I wish the title didn’t include “For Wii U”, because I got excited to see some actually Wii U gameplay. I’m sure none of that gameplay was for WIi U and the trailer didn’t even mention Wii U anywhere :/
I assume that either THQ or Vigil Games are keeping it on the down-low for Nintendo’s sake. I’m sure they’ll surprise everyone when they make an appearance during Nintendo’s E3 presentation in June.
Nintendo is really smart. By keeping all Wii U info on the down low, all the hardcore Nintendo fans are getting really hyped, really fast. It would probably be a lot different if Nintendo released all their info at E3 2011.

I really hope this is not in-ge footage from the Wii U console. While it doesn’t look terrible, and it’s definitely looking better than the Wii, it’s barely passable as XBOX 360 graphics. Especially when you compare to the likes of Crysis 2 and Rage. It most certainly doesn’t look like something that is supposed to “far exceed” the XBOX 360 and PS3 in power.
That aside, it looks like a fun game to play. I just hope it takes more advantage of the Wii U’s rumored graphical powerhouse capabilities.

the animation looks fine… it’s the textures everyone is whining about… and its such low res compressed image anyway… let’s wait for e3 to judge the Wii U version… also… this game is heavily stylized… it is more cartoony than realistic…

Sorry, I wasn’t intentionally trying to be misleading. I was trying to highlight the fact that Darksiders 2 is coming to Wii U for those readers not in the know. I’m unaware of which platform this specific footage is from.

I agree that it’ll look great regardless. I wouldn’t, however, assume “everyone” here knows and understands what the title meant…as you can see from “everyone’s” comments. The title clearly informs the generalized audience that the footage is for the Wii U, which it isn’t.

Definitely going to be a much better game than the first one. I’m happy I’m not controlling a ridiculously buff character this time around, I just hope they can make me care more about the story than the last time. While the art style is totally awesome, the graphics don’t push the current HD consoles, talk less of showcasing the WiiU’s.

I hope that is very early development. Graphically it doesn’t look up to scratch just yet, perhaps touching the minimal standard for what the Xbox 360 can chug.
If the Wii U is destined to be more powereful, in processing power and graphics then I can see this game being a huge blockbuster.
With regard the graphics, was it not the devs for this game who said Nintendo wouldn’t let them show off the Wii U build of the game at E3 last year due to the fact it didn’t look good enough?
last year all they had was flat rainbow colored polygons running in engine… they hadn’t textured anything yet…
Yes. They said that they had a build ready to show off at E3 last year, but Nintendo decided not to show it. Smart move, btw, don’t want to let that cat out of the bag too soon.
I expect to see this game playable as a demo at this year’s E3.

I was listening to this trailer more than watching, so I didn’t notice the lack of icon, but it sounds like they are building this game to be much more than a ps3 or 360 title. With the ‘depth’ they’re adding to the franchise, it sounds like something worthy of the Wii U audience.
Damn, I want this over Pikmin 3 if I pick up a Wii U.

No matter how often I see things about this game and how awesome I think this game looks, it just doesn’t appeal to me.
I may buy it anyway though to support third parties.
