Nintendo Slashes Price Of 3DS AC Adapter

The Japanese version of the Nintendo 3DS XL will be sold without an AC adapter. In Japan, the 3DS AC adapter is sold separately for ¥1,500 but, to make it more affordable, Nintendo will be reducing its price to ¥1,000 starting July 12th. The North American 3DS XL will be sold with an AC adapter but, like the Japanese version, the European version will not be sold with one, so perhaps Nintendo will reduce its price in Europe as well.

    1. BECAUSE, well …. ah, … emhhh…let me think for a minute ……because…..it doesn’t make a lick.of sense

      1. they figure people are either upgrading from a dsi or normal 3ds so to keep prices down they don’t include it

        1. i feel sorry for the folks buying one for the first time for themselves or as a gift only to look for the necessary charger , running back to the store to be told, oh it doesn’t get sold with one. But give me some more money to buy one. It won’t look good for Nintendo.

  1. I understand why they’re removing the adapter,
    Here in Japan,Every store has hundred’s of 3DS accessories,
    And you can find adapters almost anywhere;;

          1. Thats funny theres this place in the USA called San Francisco, oh nevermind, stop being a homophobe, let people do whatever or whoever they want. And no, im not gay, im just not discriminating.

              1. I dont need to be, because gays dont go around raping straight people, theyre normal people who like the opposite sex. Saying stuff like this will eventuallylook as stupid as people who said the same thing about people with different coloured skin.

  2. Well, that’s cool but seeing this articles a graveyard for conversation….how do get the adapters wire into that perfect shape of the picture?

  3. uh… ok? no ac addaptor on the 3dsxl. sold separately. sounds like a money grabbing scheme to me.

  4. Se if I’m not mistaken, here is europe if I buy the 3DS XL I have to buy the AC adapter as well seperately? I wont have much problem with this providing that I can find them easily in stores, but I feel casual consumers who may pick this up may get confused at first when they find there AC adapter not included, unless Ninty make it clear you have to buy it separately on the box or something

  5. Thank you for buying a 3DS XL …

    Now we will Fuck you over by charging you for an adaptor.

    Now pay us for an XL circle pad.

    We are Nintendo, and we will screw our stupid “loyal customers” for every last penny they have!

  6. If Nintendo are dropping the price of an AC adaptor anyway, why not just include it with the 3DS XL to start with?
    Nintendo are getting too greedy and taking advantage.

  7. From what I’ve heard, at least on the Japanese side of things, they actually do this a lot. And not just Nintendo handhelds either. So to them, this probably isn’t that much of a big deal.
