‘TimeSplitters 4 Interest Isn’t High Enough Yet’

Cevat Yerli founder, CEO and President of Crytek, doesn’t think that interest for the TimeSplitters franchise is high enough at the moment to warrant a fourth instalment. That’s not to say that there won’t be one, as Yerli says interest is high enough to at least think about developing one sometime in the future.

“I tested through my official blog to see how big the Timesplitters community is, and while the volume of responses was quite high, we feel it’s not high enough yet.”

“That being said, it did indeed trigger a deeper evaluation of what we do with Timesplitters, and I can only say this for now; we might have some surprises coming soon.”

      1. This guy

If it surfaced, it could potentially knock COD off its multiplayer podium, its as diverse as halo but more weird, you can play as a Mummy and a Monkey with guns

        1. Yep. I’d take TimeSplitters 2 over CoD4 any day and CoD4 it’s my favorite CoD! It’s sad the small amount of love Crytek gives to this series.

          1. This was certainly the FPS that proved itself to have a much more enjoyable premise than most of the ones out now…

We call ponyfeathers on there not being enough demand…they obviously aren’t looking beyond their own front doors, for there is clearly a demand in the market for a niche shooter of Timeplitters pedigree…and there are clearly those who would wish it to be available, too!

    1. i’d take a hd release best fps ever, and good humor in it too. spent countless hours at friends houses playing this, knew every level inside out.

        1. So many games that need to happen. TimeSplitters 4, Kingdom Hearts 3, Eternal Darkness 2, Half-Life 3, Mega Man Legends 3, etc… it’s so hard to keep track.

  1. I asked the head guy of Crytek at Games Britannia and his answer was that they are defiantly interested in a 4th time-splitters and most of the dev team that worked on the 1st 3 are still working there but that particular team don’t have the time to make one just yet but it is a possibility that it may be made in the future.

He did NOT go on to say what platforms it would be for, i.e this generation or next gen with the Wii U, 720, PS4 or PC.

  2. Personal blog, hello put it on a Nintendo blog page and you will need all the numbers you need in minutes. We are many and we are wise, intelligent and smart; unlike Sony drones ( Ness ), exbots ( Aelous ), PC snobs, iPad elitists and mobile sheeple.

  3. Yeah… 100,000 people around the world who are interested in the game isn’t enough?… Crytek, you used to be cool now your just like the rest of the ‘big companies’

    1. No, it’s the publishers who aren’t interested in it. Crytek’s president is actually encouraging fans to speak up to convince the publishers that there’s an interest in this game.

    2. 100k people who want to buy a a big BUDGET game is not enough….but of course you wouldn’t know since you are still in high school…

  4. For anyone thinking this is Crytek’s fault, it’s not. The problem is the publishers. Crytek’s president has been encouraging people to speak up and show their publishers that there is an interest in TS4.

  5. i didnt even know there was such a blog im sure many fans and gamers didnt either some dont even go and check these things out they just love the games advertisement should be better if u want accurate responses to games…

  6. really? now that FPS are a fad, you want to wait to release one of the best FPS to date till there is more demand? Come on, Call of Duty basically ripped off all of TS Modes, wouldn’t you think everyone would love to see where the Original Zombies Came From? Infected?
