Brian Gray, the lead translator on The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts, and Monster Hunter has Tweeted that the Square Enix countdown surprise for The World Ends With You may be more than just an iOS port of the game. Gray had the following to say to his Twitter fans.
“Before everyone decides the #twewy countdown is over, they might want to wait for the countdown to be over. #moredripthanleak”
At least have it for 3DS.. :(

They have been supporting phones for a long time, Kingdom Hearts ”Coded” was launched on Phones and took a long time to arrive in a handheld. Personally, I don’t care about phone games, I think theres just a few games interesting… or i’m just too old for all these new changes in the industry, like playing games with not a single button…
Are you stupid? The company is doing it for extra profit. Why do you think company’s make multiplatform games? Because they sell more and therefore make much more profit.
Second party developers make them for only one console because they are partially owned by that company.
I don’t think it will take off on iOS because it will cost more than all the microtransaction games on the app store and will not be the same as the DS version because it lacks buttons.

Having it on the phone is a big mistake. Only casuals play game’s on it. Twewy has a huge fanbase but they’re also gamers not casuals.

I completely agree. It’s also due to the fact that it will cost much more than all the micro-transaction games like Angry Birds and Cut the Rope, and therefore people won’t want to spend as much money as they may not like it.

What are you talking about? There’s no reason to port it to 3DS as it can already be played on it, and it would look awful and stretched on the Wii U. If it’s something on either of the consoles, then it will be a new games.
You clearly don’t grasp the concept of “port”… If it were ported to WiiU it would be recoded and rerendered so it would look good, they wouldn’t just take the DS version and slap it on a WiiU disc, it doesn’t work like that.
I know what a port is. Most ports do not go from home console to handheld or vice versa as it involves completely modifying the graphics. Ports are most commonly done to make a bit more cash from a game and is usually done with ease, such as a port from PS3 to Wii, where they simply downscale the graphics and rewrite the coding a little and ta-da, it’s done. It wouldn’t be a port if they put it on the Wii U, as it would involve completely remaking the game as the coding on the Wii U is completely different to that of the DS.
My feelings are definitely still iffy on the concept of an iOS port, but this helps.
