Wii U European Release Date And Pricing Confirmed By French Retailer?

French retailer FNAC has listed the Wii U release date as well as pricing for the console. The retailer has produced a flyer which states that the console will retail for €349 and will launch on December 7th. We’ve already heard rumours suggesting that the console will see a December release in Europe and a November release in North America.

          1. Well, with all the taxes on it, it would be around R$3000,00 or R$4000,00 in Brazil (something around $1500.00 $2000.00 in USD). I hate Brazil ¬¬

            1. hi there glad too be i united states were there saying our price $249.99 $299.99 and $349.99 glad the united states price is not $4,000

        1. Sorry Ontario Canada, provinces varry on Taxes. But its still more expensive in canada to buy video games for that reason there when compared to the US.

I know my dutch BF has to pay out of his ass big time though for video games because of the high prices in taxes. So he loves how cheep that stuff is here lol.

        2. Hey, us Brits have to pay 20% sales taxes! And that’s every step of the way so things can end up being twice the price of their US counterparts.

            1. Yes because wages are lower compared to Canada (ie its $10.25 for mininum wage in Ontario and its still rising just not this year) and most of our Taxes are going to our health care system.

  1. Is anyone actually falling for this? They are just making up some prices. But we will find out in september 13 im looking for 240-299.99 USD

      1. This is a news site, though… They shouldn’t skip past a rumour just because the real price and release date may be announced soon. Sickr is just informing he readers of *possibly* new info.

  2. Quit your complaining about high prices – In Australia, we’re going to get it for $600 – AND our dollar is stronger than the US$!

    1. Canada should be paying less for games since our dollar is always on par or above the US dollar but we still pay more. Example DS/3DS game average price
is $34.99 in America but we will pay $39.99 for those same games in Canada.

  3. You won’t see straight conversion anyway, look at any console sold internationally over the last decade, they always vary between countries. Take the Wii for example, that launched in the U.K. for £179 which at the time in 2006 was equivalent to $342 USD.But it launched in the U.S for $249. Companies charge what they deem appropriate to a given market. Besides retailers often make up prices like this as a baseline before products launch anyway. Best to wait for the 13th

    1. They know rumours will be around amd there isnt anyway they can stop them until they announce it. Im pretty sure these majour retailers already would have the price and release date but have to keep there mouth shut about it. Kinda like how games seem to arrive a week earlier at stores before release date sometimes.

    1. $440 is way to much in my opinion for that. Id deffinetly pass for a good few years til I got cheap! I wont play it as much as the PS4 and Xbox720 so I want to pay less for it. Id pay that price for PS4/Xbox720 though if its a higher end model, like has more memory for example.

        1. Yeah I dont mind paying $400 for a console ill play the hell out of since Ill love it that much. My old PS3 was that price and I played it to death literaly. Now I would never pay thaf much for my Wii since I rarely touch it. It was in January since I last touched a Wii game on it, I still gotta beat skyward sword but other games and work have been distracting me from it. To me that is a waste of money so ill want to pay less.

      1. hi there you think that $440 for wii u is too much money ps4 and xbox 720 released there price $1,000 for xbox 720 and $1,500 for ps4 xbox games cost $120 and ps4 games cost $210

        1. Uhhh no…. no they wont be that price and I am damn sure about that. They aint stupid. At the very most I see it being $500 for the highest end model of it.

    2. The exchange differences arent that straight forward. The 3DSXL is about $180-200, in the UK its £180. £ for $, it should be about £120. Europe amd the UK get overcharged all the time, i’ll just be $350, and £320

      1. Well for obvious reason of course it wouldn’t be as I said it would, only just stating how much that it’s actually at if you look at the conversion differences. It’s not as a definite price-tag. –– 3DS XL is about £169.99 in the UK, which is a fair deal to most, and I wouldn’t go out my way as to say the UK get overcharged all the time.

        1. Not all of the time, but a lot of the time, we do get heftily overcharged. Mainly with electronics.
And, as you said, the 3DS XL is currently around the £169 mark in the UK. That equates to about 269 usd. So Brits are paying about $80 more for the exact same console except we are not even provided with a charger, whereas American citizens are paying about $80 less than Brits and yet they get a free charger bundled with the console.
Personally, I wouldn’t really describe that as a ‘fair deal’.

  4. As long as the price tag is equal to the hardware… If you know what I mean… If wiiu cost 100 to make (obviously not I’m just making a point) no way would I pay anywhere near 350

  5. on the flyer a little note at the bottom says: “appearance and issue date can be modified without warning by Nintendo”. It seems like Fnac has simply put a bet on the date…

  6. It is impossible to be so expansive. First, they know that if they will make same mistake as 3DS pricing they are doomed. Second, It is tooo much for console with power comparable to current gen. I think it will be something between 200-300USD, and I hope it will be something between 200 and 250$.

  7. if the French are correct it in the ball park for want i am thinking on date but as we know we just need next week to come and all these guesses will stop
