During todays Nintendo Direct presentation Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed that Nintendo Land won’t come pre-bundled with Wii U systems in Japan and will in fact be a standalone title.

  1. Really bad move. I was excited when I thought it came with WiiU but it doesn’t have enough content for me to justify buying it.

  2. Interesting… I wonder if the Wii U US version will do the same. The Nintendo 64 and Gamecube launched without packaged-in games… but they didn’t have as new a concept to sell. Interesting…

  3. Did anyone complain like this when Kirby Super Star was released for SNES? That’s the same concept – a bunch of smaller games packed into one.

I really like that some of Kirby Super Star (and Ultra)’s games (like Spring Breeze) are nice and short so I can sit down for ten minutes or so and try to beat my high score, while some are decently substantial.

I will still be buying NintendoLand regardless.

  4. It’s not necessary to bundle it in Japan. Smart move for that region. We have to wait and see what they do for the Americas and Europe. Leave luck to heaven.
