Popular UK video game retailer GAME has revealed that pre-orders for the Wii U have exceeded the company’s expectations. The retail chain wouldn’t give out specific details, but they did say that the Premium 32GB console – which comes bundled with Nintendo Land, has proven to be the most popular. Here’s what GAME had to say.

As expected with such a highly anticipated announcement of Wii U, we’ve had lots and lots of interest. Pre-orders are exceeding expectations with the black console proving the most popular so far.

    1. It’s like a Rated “R” movie, sometimes kids have trouble getting in to watch it. Plus, not everyone’s a Zombie fan, but those of us that are, LOVE ZOMBIES!!! (Like me.)

      1. ZombiU needs some advertising in UK and it well a ton . Nobody apart from internet using gaming enthusiast’s have even heard of it .

Once the wiiu hits TV , things will get real nasty in UK .

        1. ZombieU is kinda hard to advertise in the UK considering it’s a French-made game about a zombie-infested UK and killing its zombified citizens. Yeah, it’s tough one.

          1. Hum… Since I live overseas, I do not have much idea how much “unpalatable” Zombi U can be to UK guys. Unfortunately, in the US we only have the bundle with Nintendo Land – a tremendous fail, in my point of view.

            1. Indeed , amaericans like FPS equaly as much as UK and theres 5 times as much as you guys !!!!

ZombiU will be supremely well recieved in UK , with some 8/10 reviews and people knowing its full 1080p native HD . People love shooters , sports , Nintendo games in UK . Thats how it is.

    1. According to analysts and the ever, moronic trolls, very low.

As per usual, Nintendo crushes casual, graphic-gimmick sheep rumors.

        1. You must have. All they’ve said is that its not selling as well compared to Japan (where its selling incredibly well). Reggie addressed this issue already and explained why that’s the case (far more great games are available in Japan at the moment than other regions), but I wouldn’t expect you to have done your research before slighting something you don’t like.

            1. the 3ds is selling faster than the old DS did in USA . But not as fast as the 3ds is in japan.

Nintendo have very very high expectations and standards now .

overall = the 3ds is on track to be the most successful handheld/console of all time .

        2. Its overall sales surpass any handheld now and then. Which region sells more or less doesn’t matter aslong as units are moving. They’re about a million units ahead of the DS at this point. Sales sound like the product is hot to me.

                1. Rafael, I just took a look to your blog and I could realize how tendentious you are. OK, it is allowed to you can be whatever you want, but try to predict the future based on “I think this, I want that…”, and on a fancy but meaningless-context story about Urim and Tumim is just sad, very sad. Try better next time, dude!

                  1. I haven’t been wrong yet, so I guess I’m doing everything right. It’s not about being tendentious, but being realistic. For example, coming to news sites and posting how excited you’re that a console is sold out everywhere is being a sheep to marketers.

The DS, the greatest piece of hardware in Nintendo history, didn’t sell like the 3DS, like the GBA, or like the PSP. Yet, it won over all of those. That means those initial Wii U sales say nothing, yet people believe it’s a sign of success.

You should read the article I wrote about gaming boards, which applies to this comments sections

    1. Um, you’re referring to the brief software drought where there were 5 games and too steep a price.

Nintendo fixed their shit and games published. The 3DS is selling just fine my friend.

    1. And people thought they weren’t building enough hype. They are oustanding , they learn from mistakes unlike a certain gaming company that failed horribly in the 80′s XD

  1. And yet the trolls still believe rumours that very crushed months or maybe even years ago.

    1. The trolls of this website always try and add the ps3 and 360 together and then compare them to the wii , thats how low they stoop.

The 360′s top seller is Kinnect adventures a game which surpasses the casualness of wii sports .

The wii’s top seller is Mario kart wii , which is neither casual or hardcore , its both .

      1. A game shouldn’t be considered hardcore or casual, as it should be the player that who is considered those terms. I can agree that a game gets the casual title mainly because of its simplicity, but whose to say that a person aint puttin a hardcore gamer’s worth of time into a “casual” game?

  2. the way i see it, here in Europe we will be lucky if we have some units. cause don’t forget if Japan or North America don’t have enough units, they will take from the units from European stock in order to supply both Market. I do believe they did that for the wii.

Why do you think the Wii U will be in Europe After North American but before Japan? If it sell too well in North American, they will have to keep with the demand in this market and because we know the Japanese market will be have much more demand than North America there is not way Nintendo will let down their Japanese customer and therefore will have to make sure the Japanese launch is at the very least great if not enormous.
