  1. This is getting repetitious. It’s wonderful that the 3ds is doing so well, but to hear roughly the same headline every week is irritating.

      1. Nintendo America and Nintendo Europe generally don’t give out specific figures for the Nintendo 3DS, I’m afraid. We should get last months NPD figures through shortly though.

        1. No they aren’t, nintendo has stated many times that sales outside of japan aren’t doing well. That’s mainly the big reason why many eastern games don’t make it over seas.

          1. While it´s true, still even in Europe and in the USA the 3DS sells a lot better than Vita (something like a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio), and it´s always close, when not better, to the best selling home console – PS3 in Europe and Xbox360 in America

    1. I think that’s more to do with the Wii U coming out soon which means less people are buying the Wii, as opposed to an increase in vita sales

  2. 3DS/Vita ratio :
    19 3DS for 1 Vita.
RIP Vita. Few people will miss you.
But 93K is pretty high, and no big games came out recently.

    1. Announcements like Dragon Quest 7 remake and I think there was another one. It’s what’s on the horizon that is making people to buy it. Plus, the holiday is starting, so the 3DS will get some big numbers.

      1. When your handheld is the biggest threat to your homeconsole , you know it’s time to put your feet up and have a nice cup of Japanese Tea!

        1. Yeah, but I wish the Japanese would start buying more games made in the West. Look at the #1 game; Tales of Xilla 2? What the fuck! Do these rascists actually think that is better than AC3!

          1. Haha!! Dude , Tales of Games are absoloutly amazing. They never fail to provide a deep 50hour plus JRPG. Just leave em to be , I think the same shit about the pathetic excuse of game charts we have in EU and USA. I would rather live and game in japan than in UK.

          2. dude im with u i been holding on to my 3ds just to get professor layton like WTF we get resident evil revelations in the beginning of the year and thats really all the 3ds had for it other than MGS 3d and Kid Icarus Uprising but i was really hoping for something like ghost recon third person shooter or call of duty first person shooter.. idk if i dont get a shooter soon im selling my 3ds

  3. What made the 3ds sell 93K??? :S . There is no new software. Maybe it is just the fact that there is so man games new and old people can’t resist buying them or maybe it has something to do with limited editions…

    1. Yeah, that’s what I have been wondering the past few weeks. The software charts have been mainly dominated by titles on Sony systems, yet the 3DS hardware keeps selling so much.

      Curious.

      1. Maybe it has something to do with the 3ds E-shop or Limited edition 3ds’ or streetpass really takeing off and being the ”in” thing in Japan. And of course the readily available HUGE catalogue of 3ds and DS games.

        1. Wrong, it’s a remastered game running natively at such. Beating out virtually every other HD remake on the face of this planet.

          Try harder.

          1. It’s ust been retextured just like Monster Hunter Ultimate for wiiu. Maybe some added bloom lighting and particle effects. It’s exactly the same game.

The game could Run on half of an xbox 360 core which allows for it to be effortlessly rendered in such resoloution.

            1. Monster Hunter Ultimate has the more muddy textures than a tropical rain forest, Okami is easily the most beautiful remaster I have ever laid eyes upon and shows virtually none of that laziness, all for $20.

              1. Monster Hunter Ultimate is not finished yet and so far looks pretty fucking impressive. I agree Even Okami SD for PS2 and wii is jaw dropping , I hate to imagine it in Native 1080p glory. I’ll probably pick it up for ps3 sometime soon.

  4. Bravely default and Project X zone had nowhere near the impact I thought they would on the JP market :S. I expected Bravely default to sell like a million copies in japan considering it’s a new square enix RPG and Famitsu gave it 39/40…. They need to bring that shit to the west pronto.

      1. Are you for real ?? Bravely default looks amazing so does project X zone. I am all for some of the tripple A games the west is spewing out, but Japanese games are still far mor fun and well designed IMO.

    1. I think Bravely Default is SE’s biggest new IP in Japan in terms of sales. It is actually selling pretty with with good legs.

    1. it’s a new console that’s 20x better than the PS360 and has better of everything they have.Lol you already knew what the WiiU was and commented(badly) on it.So I made this comment.

  5. Tales of Xillia 2!! Ha tales of games are almost always awesome so I’m not surprised that it’s made #1. I just wish it’d make it over here to the US on ps3 or 360. Hell i’d be f*ckin ecstatic if they made a version of it from the ground up for the U :D

  6. it is in the anticipation of animal crossing new leaf that 3ds sales have gone up.
my prediction is 3ds 130k + next week atleast. lets see how high it goes.

    1. as for bravely default flying fairy it is selling very good even after having supply problems in the past weeks. we can expect to see sequels and lots of merchandise of it in future coz it is a success and has its holiday legs still to appear.

  7. 3DS is doing great and preparing for the nice holiday sales to come

PS3’s hardware sales aren’t really increasing… but they aren’t really decreasing either. software’s doing great lately though

Wii is just kind of there these days. its successor is right around the corner and its numbers are becoming meaningless to post, like the DS, PS2, and for japan, the 360

PSP is still putting out numbers that the vita will usually push whenever it gets one of its more-than-minor, less-than-major releases. still holding on pretty well

now for the vita…. well, they say that if you listen closely enough you can hear the faint sound of an EKG flatlining. i predict a hard, disappointing holiday for this handheld’s first japanese birthday

  8. i cant wait to see what high voltage and renegade kid are working on for the 3ds i hope its shooters not stupid turn base fighting shit. seriously i love JRPG but its like there not even localizing the good ones so where does that leave people outside japan who owns a 3ds with nothing to play. or are we just fuckin screwed im tired of NSMB 2 and professor layton is boring as hell its like what do the westerns get more fuckin E shop games. but yeah i hope high voltage has a new shooter in the works maybe it will break this japan only gets all the best games shit up a bit

  9. So happy to see that okami is selling well. It deserves all the recognition it gets. Hopefully this can lead to a sequel(other than Okamiden)!

  10. Clearly “Bravely Default: Flying Fairy” is a good game…now they just gotta release it in English…
It’s times like these that I wish I were Japanese…
