Nintendo has announced that Animal Crossing: New Leaf has sold out in Japan, as it shifted 600,000 units and 200,000 digital downloads of the full game. The news broke when Nintendo president Satoru Iwata took to Twitter to inform Animal Crossing fans that the game had sold out. Iwata also told followers that Japanese retailers would see an additional shipment of 200,000 copies this week.
Prepare for europe nintendo.
They won’t know what hit them
yyeeaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im not surprised, im downloading mine
600K Hard copies and 200K Digital. 800K…. Not bad at all!
Can’t wait for this game to come out. It looks like the 3ds’ killer game along with Luigis Mansion 2.
Pokemon will always be the portable killer game, but I think Animal Crossing can come close second with this awesome version. Can’t wait it to come to America.
Indeed good sir. The new mystery Dungeon for 3DS looks amazing and will sell a couple o million. But Once a new Full Pokemon game arrives for 3ds , that will inevitably be the 3ds’ highest selling , killer game.
I stil have my teeth stuck into Black version 2 lol.
For the near future , Animal crossing , Luigi’s mansion 2 , Castelvania LOS2 MOF , Monster hunter Ultimate are on My must have list.
agreed but mh4 will come before monster hunter ultimate in my list, prob wont be gettin mhultimate too if 4 comes soon enough
This is true. I am getting Ultimate on wiiu and mayve on 3ds aswell (hopefully there is a bundle or a reduced download code)
Imagine the sales when Pokemon 3DS gets a digital release… wow.
I thought a digital release of a game has an unlimited supply of units? How can digital be limited???
Someone please explain…
I think they just mean the physical copies sold out.
Awesome! Can’t wait for Animal Crossing to come to America!!! :D
Indeed. My most anticipated 3DS title right now. :)
cough Luigi’s mansion 2 cough
I’l be honest – I’m not interested in that game. lol
Maybe for you, Nintneward, AKA casual mum
First of all , you can’t spell. Second of all , please don’t call me casual mum ever again. That piece of shit has nothing to do with me. I have 1 profile – this one.
wrong person dumbass.
LOL! I like you revelution. Always owning that dickhead peteriuss. What started the fight between you two? If you don’t mind me asking.
Agreed. Why do we have to wait so much longer? The pain…
how can digital be sold out?
I think he was referring to physical copies of the game sold at retail; hence Iwata notified his twitter followers of the 200,000 additional copies of Animal Crossing being sent out to Japanese retailers this week. Digital copies should never be sold out, i.e., there is an infinite supply of digital games.
WII U in six days!
I always prefer physical copies of games, but I might have to download this one, as it will be nice to have available all the time. We shall see when the time comes I suppose. Yes, we shall see, indeed.
They should lower the price on the downloadable version and I would.
It’s over, Nintendo is finished.
It’s Nintendo. Finished is Over.
that is a lot of copies! well done ninty :P
HEY! Sickr, there’s a new Iwata Asks about Wii U Chat here:

Wow, just wait to see how many 3DS units they sold this week. Probably over 100K.
Whoa, haven’t played the series but if it seeks that good, I must be missing something.
I know. I’ve been wanting to try this series. And this news makes me want to buy it even more!

It’s good to see that this series is doing so well. I always loved the Animal Crossing series. They’re so relaxing and enjoyable. I hope Nintendo releases a new special edition 3DS XL in North America before this Animal Crossing game comes out here. Because I made a vow to myself not to buy any 3DS games until I can get a special edition 3DS XL. I WANT THAT PIKACHU 3DS XL SOOOOOOOOO BAD!

It’s a daaaamn shame they’re holding back on the Western release because of the Wuu coming out soon. Ah, well, maybe this will shorten the wait at least a little.

I’m Japanese. Now in japan, there are a lot of people who can’t buy animal crossing. Those who can’t buy it are called animal crossing refugees. LOL All I can do is waiting for an additional shipment hitting the store shelves.
