Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told MTV that he would love to see the Grand Theft Auto franchise come to Wii U. However, Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick said that he was incredibly skeptical about the console, when he spoke to journalists back in June. Here’s what Reggie had to say about Grand Theft Auto V and Wii U.
“The folks there have said very nice public comments about the Wii U.”
“In the end, it is Nintendo’s responsibility to have a large installed base, to have development tools that help the developers and publishers create great content, and essentially create an environment where teams like Rockstar can bring their very best content to our platform, and if we do that hopefully the very best content throughout the entire industry will show up on Wii U.”

i want the next red dead game to be on the wiiu. just imagining being able toswitch weapons with the touchscreen, use the touchscreen for dead eye, and having the full map on the touch screen sounds fantastic. the simple things they do similar t that with assassins creed is brilliant, and i hope more third party developers do something like that with a little bit more.

I hope he and the other big boys at Nintendo personally convince Rockstar to do this. They’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain by bringing GTA to the Wii U. There’s a big audience for it here. Leave luck to heaven.

Having GTA V on Wii U is VERY important… it tells the public “We’re Nintendo, we’re as powerful as the other guys, we can compete and offer you an even better experience of your favorite games than the competition.”

It’s a great game that’s why and it’s impact on Nintendo’s not only on for kiddy reputation but for their third party reputation. It’s a game that has never seen the light of day on a Nintendo home console. The same people who dismiss good titles are the same who end up bending over knee when good titles are confirmed.

Well RockStar better make up their damn minds so the Wii U version doesn’t come out a Year later like a lot of other 3rd party games for it. I just wish Nintendo can take advantage of GTA V’s Launch like Sony & Microsoft but they keep getting all the games late, which is bad for profits. ):

I dont play GTA games. Not my type of game. But Rockstar being skeptical of Wii U just means they are being paranoid. Afraid it wont sell on Wii U? They think it will fail like the Wii did? Oh wait it didnt. Stop being babies Rockstar and put it on Wii U and PC for that matter.
Id get it for Wii U if it was made for it. I can see the game pad being at good use as a map BUT the controlls will be annoying…I doont like where the analog sticks are placed.
