To coincide with the launch of Wii Mini, Nintendo is also adding to the existing range of Nintendo Selects titles, offering great value for everyone to enjoy classic Wii games. While Nintendo Selects games such as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy and Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City are already available, other classic Wii titles being added to the Nintendo Selects roster in time for the launch of Wii Mini on March 22nd include:

  • Mario Party 8 – Everyone can get in on the fun with Mario Party 8 on Wii Mini. Use the Wii Remote to twist, turn, lasso and row your way through six game boards and dozens of thrill-packed minigames.
  • Wii Sports Resort – Wii Sports Resort took the inclusive fun and intuitive controls of the original Wii Sports to the next level, introducing a whole new set of entertaining and physically immersive activities. With the deep control enhancements available through using the Wii Remote Plus, newcomers to this game can enjoy unprecedented gaming precision as they cruise on a water scooter, duel with swords, toss flying discs and much more.
  • Mario Power Tennis – Power up your tennis game on Wii Mini by swinging the Wii Remote to smack powerful forehands, backhands and lobs. You can take on the role of your favourite Mario characters and play on imaginative Mushroom Kingdom courts, including a court littered with famous Mario-style power-ups. As you win tournaments, clear minigames or challenge Gimmick Courts, you will unlock new characters, courts and challenges. Bring some friends because up to four players can compete in wild multiplayer tennis matches.
  • Super Paper Mario – Princess Peach needs to be rescued from an evil kidnapper – and Bowser isn’t to blame! You can take control of Mario, Luigi, Bowser and Princess Peach – who escaped by herself after she had been kidnapped – to overcome the evil Count Bleck in an action adventure game that mixes traditional side-scrolling 2D platforming with 3D exploration and puzzle-solving.

  1. I really liked super paper mario. I understand it gets a bad rap, mainly because of the gameplay. admittedly it isn’t 10/10 but the story is the best out of the paper marios imo

    1. the story is the best in all the games. they said up above that you save peach and that is only true for the first few chapters. when i got this game i got it as a select so it is not really a new select.

  2. I’ve always wanted to play Wii Sports Resort, so this will be my chance.
Too bad we got Mario Party 8 instead of 9 though, and a part of me wants Boom/Fortune Steet there as well.

  3. Ok, i have a legitimate question….
Why do people seem to hate Twilight Princess so much? Its probably my 2nd favourite behind Wind Waker, i never understood the dislike for that game…

    1. The only thing I don’t like a bit is some of the music…especially boss music…
And Ganondorf should have been harder to beat…but Zelda bosses are always so damn easy to beat…
MM and SS had enjoyable bosses though and a bit challenging firstntime you played the games.

      1. Yeah i agree some of the music wasnt up to standard. I found SS to be quite a bad game, its just got design that i hate like being so linear and less about exploration, and Fi -__- i thought some of the bosses were just uninspired too, Ghirahim was cool, the first time, and the “water temple” boss was good, but like, a scorpion? Really? And its just unimaginative, you just hit the eye parts in its claws a few times.

I liked the upgrade system though, it wouldve been really good…if the game was actually open and encouraged exploration.

I think Skyward Sword jus suffered the fact in being on the Wii.

        1. Ur just shut up I guess u never really payed attention to first of if u think about it the only reason why fi was robotiic was because her only purpose in life was to serve her goddess hylia but in the end wen she acturally felt emotion from link it made so heart breaking to see her be trapped in the master sword and linear yes I guess it was but you ever why theres so many islands in the sky cause it came from below it made perfect sence either way all the character sprang to life unlike to tw skyward sword is the best Zeld, twilight princess can suck a moblins dick

        2. Agreed, worst 3D Zelda. I hope they don’t continue with this style. Graphics were awesome, story was awesome, but the linearity sucked. One town? What the hell. The best part of Zelda games is arriving in a brand new town, knowing there’ll be new characters, new side quests, a new dungeon not too far off. Really disappointed by SS

    2. I don’t hate it. The wolf parts are freaking awesome and I love the horse battles and the scale of the world. (there should be more to do in the field). I don’t see why someone would hate such a great game =)

      1. Me neither.
Its also the only time i felt like the story moved away from “prnicess in trouble, stop Ganon” story, it was more about saving your friends and eventually having to take on the burden of Link’s birth right, it was only after the first 3 dungeons that Zelda actually became the person to save. i felt like Link was actually just a normal guy who has his own life, rather than “oh some kid in the forest, oh im the chosen one, ok, time to stop Ganon”.
Midna was a great character too, i like that the companion actually HAS. A story and is the major part of the story, seeing as shes with him through the whole game, it was more like Link an Midna rather than Link and that annoying fairy, or Link and that master sword bitch who wont shut the fuck up.

        1. Fi is so damn annoying. The way she sings looks so weird.

I love midna. By far the best companion with an actual personality, which is the antithesis of fi. Plus, Midna has a lot of cool powers, and fi is weak and needs memories to be “awakened”

    3. Twilight princess is a 9.5/10 as far as I’m concerned. It has a slow and slightly unusual start. And the wolf sections seemed to annoy some people (I liked them) . The game was epic as usual for the series. It’s about my 6th favorite Zelda game.

    4. I don’t dislike the game, it’s just that I think the graphics were a bit dark-ish. Wind Waker is my favorite though, so I’ll buy the HD version when it comes out, granted they fix up the graphic style we saw in the preview. The characters looked more like clay than cel-shaded :\

  4. I hate the Nintendo Selects releases because of them having to write NINTENDO SELECTS on the cover art of the games. I feel like (as a collector) they’re not as valuable as the original game releases). In fact, even when I order a Gamecube or Wii game on eBay, I make sure they’re not Nintendo Selects or Player’s Choice releases. Even though they’re still the same game either way.

  5. I love the Mario Party series, but there’s one thing that always annoys me to death about them. Having to watch the computer players take their turns. It especially annoys me in Mario Party 8. Like on that island board, having to watch every computer player buy items and ride the freakin’ dolphins again and again. Nintendo should ALWAYS add the ability to press a button and skip those parts. It makes me wanna stop playing.

I also get sick of the games never having options to turn on only the mini-games you love the most. All they ever have is mini-game SETS. Which sucks because, no matter what set you turn off, you’re turning off some games that are fun in the process. The 4-Player games are the funnest, because I HATE helping out the other players. I’d leave only the 4-Player games on if I could. The 1 Vs 3 games are the WORST! I HATE the fact that, if you’re on the side with 3 players, the other players still win even if you’re the only one surviving in the end. DON’T LET OTHERS WIN TOO, THEY’RE LOSERS! Grrrrrrr!!
