Rob Crossley, one of the writers over at CVG, has hinted that the Wii U will make a Nintendo 3DS style comeback in the coming year. Sources close to Crossley have told him that Nintendo will be releasing a number of significant Wii U titles this holiday season. However, he says that he needs to obtain more details from his source to give a better explanation. Here’s what he had to say on CVG.
“Which brings me to the Wii U. Regulars at CVG might be aware that I talk down the console’s chances in the most definitive language possible whenever asked. Well, from the things I’m hearing, there’s a chance I’ll soon be added to the reject bin of crazy talking twitter twonks pretty soon.”
“Hopefully, if we obtain further details from our sources, we’ll be in a position to explain more to you soon. But, for now, put it this way: In the past two years there have been moments of disquiet regarding the 3DS and – like an instant magic trick – Nintendo has put an end to this with sudden reveals of significant games that went on to become star performers at Christmas.”

I’m pretty sure most rational people expect this. Once those big Nintendo titles start streaming out (Smash, Mario Kart, Mario Party, 3D Mario, etc.) the Wii U will definitely pick up in sales.

It’s been announced for the Wii U and 3DS. Plus, to make things sweeter they will integrate cross play functionality, similar to how Monster Hunter 3 for both 3DS and Wii U work. Hurry up summer!!!!!!

They’re getting Soul Sacrifice among a few other games for the Vita, but other than those, I don’t think Sony has much. Their big PS4 reveal basically showed off what the system is capable of. They showed a short screen of third-party companies that they’ve supposedly got making games for them, but few games to support the list.
This E3 is going to be a huge knock-down-drag-out of games between Sony and Nintendo.
They’ve both shown their next-gen and now their respective fan-bases want to see the games that are going to convince them to buy the systems.
Nintendo will likely show some really nice third but mostly huge-hitting 1st, while Sony will likely be focused almost solely on third-party.
Sony supported the PS2 until late last year……. That’s a 12 year cycle almost.

This is a pleasant surprise. A journalist that actually has something positive to say about the Wii U. We spend a lot of time ripping people to shreds over dooming the Wii U, so I have to take my hat off to this guy for going against the popular grain and posting the truth.
Personally, I think that people in the know that have an bias against Nintendo know at least a little something about what they are hiding in the closest and they are SCARED TO DEATH from it. That’s why they spend so much time bashing the Wii U.

Yes we will. The spotlight is on them though so they have to produce. Nintendo backed themselves unnecessarily into a corner with an atrocious E3 last year and with botching the Wii U launch. Things however have slowly but surely started to turn around for the Wii U and it is gaining momentum.
Detractors are running out of excuses. They have done everything they could to sabotage the Wii U is and it is still here. Now it is time for Nintendo to release the Spirit Bomb.

Of course it will make a comeback. It is still new and has not had enough time to get big games. It is odd when people think a system is a failure based on launches. Wait until the whole life span of a console is done then judge.
What I hate is everyone thinks the Next X Box and PS4 will do so amazingly well out the gate. Remember the PS3 launch? It was a joke. The 360 did a bit better since it had some games, but still. What i’m trying to say is that they will all sell, just like the DS and Wii, PS3 and 360 (after price cuts) and 3Ds (also after price cut)
I just think too many people are trying to make out like the PS4 and NextBox will just destroy the Wii U just because they will have some superior specs.
