          1. You’re better off finding a used Wii that can, since component cables for the Gamecube are nigh-impossible to find

            1. How so? It uses the same cables as SNES/N64. There are plenty of cables, including a superior S-video input I just bought. It’s not first party, but it’s cheap and works like a wonder. Stunning quality, and I use it for my SNES and N64 too.

          2. also i have emulaters for never released games on there. for like the many great snes games nintendo refused to release, also dont say pirate bullshit because i dont do that.

            1. Well, apparently you do. Just because it wasn’t released in your country doesn’t mean it isn’t pirating or stealing if you are playing it without owning the original game.

              1. it was either going on my computer or my wii. also i waited 6 years and there was no sign of great snes games to come out. this is the only time im going to soft mod a system and play emulators on something . ive spent over 200$ on vc so. there is a difference in old games that arnt being sold that pirating new games.

        1. Once I buy a WiiU I’ll keep my Wii resting. Won’t sell it because I value my consoles, but for GC games I just always used my dear little black Cube.

          With Orange Spice controller.

          1. my last thing i used my wii was for MY game eternal darkness. would you like to aid ME and the all mighty one of the darkness!!! into our never ending mission in what lies beneath the human eye!!! the world in which is the eternal darkness!!!!!! ahhhhahahahhah

  1. Pretty much equivalent to a Wii U price drop if you still have a Wii around. Also, it’s not farfetched to go on with this deal when Wii U plays Wii games anyway.

    1. That`s another reason why they`re doing this
you sell your wii, get a Wii U and then you have to buy all your shit again
bullshit, I`d rather spend the $50
I mean your already paying at least a couple hundred, what`s another 50? one game?
if you think about it, you’re trading your perfectly working wii that has all your VC and Wiiware games, save files and is able to play gamecube games, for $50 off the purchase of a Wii U which will allow you to purchase one extra game

  2. You can make more money off of ebay n friends. More importantly though, how are you supposed to system transfer like this? Sad to think how many will probably do this anyways.

  3. Or you could just FUCKING SELL IT ON EBAY AND MAKE $100

    1. IGN might be supporting the Nextbox, but if you read te comments below the articles they post or go on any other website. You’ll find that a LOT of people are hating on the Xbox One. It is going to go down hill so bad it isn’t even funny. Wii U’s going to SMOKE Microsoft’s glorified VHS player. 💋

  4. I sell NO consoles, especially for such an insultingly low price, I will keep my console collection forever, and you people should really think before selling your wii, you may regret it later.
That`s why I don`t fall for this bullshit, I keep the games I buy and then when I feel like playing an old game, I don`t have to search for it on ebay, cause it`s in my collection.

Anyway I think this is only a scam, Nintendo want`s to get rid of our Gamecube playing consoles so they can trick us into buying games we already own on VC
and I hate VC, I don`t feel like I`m actually playing the game unless it`s on the original console, with the original controller
lol Sorry for the mini rant, I waz bored :P

  5. That’s pretty ridiculous if you don’t want to lose all of your Wii data, since the Wii U has that system tranfer thingy..

            1. yea. The Xbox really is shit. There’s actually dumbasses at my school who think it’s the best thing ever. i can’t wait to see that thing bomb hard (as i do not like microsoft at all.)

          1. No, not most gamers, just the Sony and MS fanboys/girls or Nintendo haters. I like them all personally, but I gotta admit the new Xbox One has some serious issues. It’s essentially a bottom of the barrel computer you hook up to you TV, which you can already do with a PC, and it has the issues with the used games. Plus that 500 GB HD is going dwindle pretty quickly once people realize that each game in fully installed onto the HD and generally a game is between 10-25 gigs right now.

    1. Yeah, the Xbox One is gettig no love. And now people are having a change of heart for the Wii U. People are actually saying they will buy a Wii U over the Nextbox lol!!! I guess some hard core gamers have smartened up! 💋

        1. Ummm, this will only be the third generation of console from MS, so at this point in time it’s 50/50.

  6. And then they probably sell it for nearly the full price of a brand new Wii. GameStop over-charges on used games and consoles.

    1. Don’t hold your breath, all the deals that have been around have been from the stores. Nintendo has said they won’t be dropping the price any time soon, although I wouldn’t be too surprised if they drop it shortly before Chrismas.

  7. lol they are selling Wii U Basic Pack for 300 € and Premium Pack for 350. I could just sell my Wii elsewhere for more than 50 bucks and buy Premium Pack for 300 € at amazon or I keep my Wii and buy the Basic Pack for 200 € at amazon. Game Stop is shit.

    1. I wouldn’t do it. If anything keep it just for a second netflix box in a second room or keep using it for the Wii and Gamecube in a second room.
