GameStop confirmed to Kotaku that they were recently able to source a limited number of copies of Xenoblade Chronicles to carry in their stores and online. The company says that it listens to the feedback it gets from its PowerUp customers about stocking certain vintage titles. The news comes after a source close to the retailer said that the company printed a few thousand copies of Xenoblade Chronicles with no shrink-wrap in order to restock their inventory, then labeled them as pre-owned.The US retailer says that Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii should be hitting stores in the coming months.

    1. very expensive. the metroid prime games are very popular, and having the entire 3 games in one equals expensive af

      1. They sure as hell better lower the price because 1. Its hasn’t been available for a while and 2. The trilogy port is about 4 years and price should be lower now. $50-$55 for Metroid Prime Trilogy and you got a deal.

  1. Well this would have applied to me a year ago, but I found a copy brand new, $50 on ebay :) Still, EVERYONE BUY THIS. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. It is literally better than the Orange Box!

    1. Because they didn’t get them from Nintendo. Essentially it’s saying the publisher doesn’t get any profits from that sale, just like the sale of a used game.

  2. Come Nintendo….you can’t expect to release “X” when your only similar game (possibly prequel) is in such limited stock and so expensive…

  3. There is only one downside I see with Metroid Prime Trilogy. It might not come with the awesome steel book case it had at the original launch. Either way I highly recommend this game to anyone who hasn’t played the series before.

    1. Hey quick question, have you played both the GameCube and Wii ones? Which one do you like better? I have MP1 and MP2 for the GameCube but will happily buy the trilogy if the controls are great. I never played MP3.

      1. I had all three of the original versions of the games and traded them in for the Trilogy. The Wii controls added to the first two games are great. Prime 3 as you can expect is pretty much the same since it was already made for the Wii. I highly suggest that you buy the Trilogy when it hits GameStop.

  4. I’ve been playing Xenoblade Chronicles since the day it came out and I’m still not done with it. I give it about 5-8 hours a month and I’m doing every side quest possible. I have about 110 hours logged into it. This is the most valuable game I have ever played and whatever amount you pay, it’s worth every penny. If you don’t like another company’s product, don’t buy it. It’s that simple.

    1. True, that this game sells for hundreds Brand New from private sellers. But have you ever seen a Retail Store overprice a Brand New Game like that? Are Retail Stores even allowed to go over the MSRP on Brand New games? Maybe they can do this only on used games and therefore sell these Xenoblade games as used.

      1. They can. The MSRP is just basically a suggestion of what the producers of a product wants the retailer to sell it for. The retailer can increase/decrease the price as they see fit.

  5. Wow… GameStop are worse than those collectors on the internet that seriously over-estimates the value of video games.

    1. It’s not an overestimation, IMO; Chronicles is easily worth that $90.
Having said that, though, actually SELLING it at that price is a whole different issue.
It shouldn’t be happening. Especially for used copies.

      1. I agree why wait for them to restock metroid prime trilogy when I can go on ebay and get the same thing for the same fucking price?

      2. Yeah, I love that game. Personally, I would easily pay $90 for it, but I still don’t feel like people should charge $90 for it.

  6. Note to NOA: next time there’s a game with high demand your fanbase wants to you to bring here, call Xseed. Hell, I’m surprised Xseed had nothing to do with getting this over to America.

      1. Those two though came out after Xenoblade. Shame they didn’t get it’s rights first so we didn’t have this mess.

      1. I wouldn’t be surprised if they (NOA) breaks and gets Mother 3 on the eShop in the future. Hell, they did it with Earthbound when people begged them to bring it back to America and Europe.

        1. And since Earthbound has been selling so well on the e-shop, I would think they would want to offer Mother 3 on the E-Shop as well.

  7. so your telling me gamestop magically found thousands of copies of xenoblade pre owned. the game that nobody wants to sell………. yeah do you smell that *sniff* that smell in the air, oh yeah that bullshit, these are new copies!!!!! inspector gadget gat you pathetic shitty ass out here!!!!! we got a scam on our hands!!!!!!
    http://youtu.be/nTuCWQUBOkg?t=28s

STOP BEING OBVIOUS,FUCK YOU INSPECTOR GADGET!!!!!! ” it seem that xenoblade has some pre owned copies in for 90$, hhhhmmm sudden surge dont you think, people are mad and wondering” FUCKING IDIOT WE KNOW JUST SOLVE THE MYSTERY YOU WORTHLESS BITCH!!!!!!

  8. so they give a non answer and then brag about doing the same thing to another “rare” game. Great response shitstop. I’ll be running to the store right now.
And by that I of course mean I won’t be seen dead in a gamestop ever again. for other reasons but this only helps my argument. corrupt greedy scammers and liars.

  9. Still, it’s not worth getting these games at the prices they’re selling them for. Who’s gonna pay that much money?

  10. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again.
    GameStop is pure evil.
You’re better off dealing with a crossroad demon.

  11. Nintendo should release these on eShop for 30-40 €/$/Monopoly money.
That would be a giant fuck you to gamestop.

    1. They have EB Games in America too. EB Games, Gamestop and Software Etc. are all the same stores. Possibly even Funcoland (if that even still exists).
