NeoGaf user CreamSugar, who is generally right about NPD sales figures, says that Splinter Cell: Blacklist for Wii U only accounted for 1.6% of total sales for the well-received stealth title. The Xbox 360 version of the game accounted for 70% of the total sales. This would mean the Wii U version only sold around 5,000 copies, which is a dire amount if correct. Hopefully this won’t deter Ubisoft for releasing other AAA titles on the platform.

I think you are expressing your point the wrong way. Splinter cell is a great game but we can’t coup up with less content for the same price. Rayman should send them 2 messages.

2. Only platformes sells wich could be a plus if they start making 3d platformers again.
I get what you’re saying. Maybe I over reacted, but the more this happens, the less likely we will get non-Nintendo games and may even see a drop in Indie support. We may not like all the games and may not get the full versions (which is shitty) but the fact Developers are investing in the WiiU at all with a small install base and knowledge of the PS4’s potential, we’re in real danger of not seeing Dev support.
Rayman Legends sold better on Wii U… so yeah… Maybe Ubisoft should fix their strategies a little instead of just breaking their deals with Nintendo.

Exactly! if developers want their games to sell on the wii u then they should actually take the time to work all the bugs out of them and make sure they have everything that the other versions have. the reason why i haven’t gotten it yet is because of all the complaints of all the bugs in it, even after their recent patch, and they didn’t even have same system co-op which you would think would be very easy to do for the wii u. Maybe when the game gets down to the price it really should be then i will get it, but only after they fix the issues that are still plaguing it.

I’m calling BS on this! Usualy the size of the miiverse community roughly equates to about 1/4 of the games sales. It pretty much always works out that way for what ever strange reason. Splinter cell USA community is over 9000! Putting the game at roughly over 30,000

while i agree with u about double agent, i had it on 360, and LOVED THE HELL OUT OF IT, black list is allot better then conviction! problem with it is, it is TOO EASY, even on perfectionist, with the new press a to do EVERYTHING mechanic its just too dumbed down, even the mark and execute makes the game to easy, granted you cant use it on max difficulty, but still the games missions are too simple, regardless i bought it on wii u and LOVE IT, the online is a total joke, ubisoft makes terrible nat code, the online lobby match making system is total garbage, and just dont work, its like assassins creed 3, that game had the same problem, when you look for a online lobby to join the game fails to find one, and so it seems like no one is playing online, granted the install base is small on wii u but their are people playing online, but the match making is garbage!

I have it on my 360 too (hacked) and I can definitely see the difference with the wii u version. Also the 360 version has alot of screen tearing even after I installed the texture pack.

Lack of offline co op is a piss poor excuse. It had better graphics and the gameplay was more fun with the gamepad. Lets not forget the offscreen play.

Catch-22. Don’t buy the games and the devs are even less likely to support the system in the future. Even with an insignificant loss of certain features, if more people go the game, then devs would be more inclined to make a complete game for the system in the future.
We should not allow this no matter the consequences. The reasons on why their games are not selling are clear and they should be the ones to fix it not us after all no matter how many millions they risk consumers are risking even more buying incomplete things.
As I said, it’s a catch-22. Gamers aren’t going to support because of devs, devs aren’t going to support because of gamers. The circle will continue until one side breaks.
However, if gamers were really concerned about getting better and more complete support, they would still support the games that are being released now, even if they have some insignificant differences to other versions. Bearing through these few titles with more consumer support will open the gates to devs putting more faith into the system and giving more complete games and more resources put into Wii U development.
But if they want to test the waters properly you send a boat not a bathtub. The only game I have se that can be used has measures for third party’s not are games released at the same time has other consoles like rayman legends, and resident evil revelations because they are the same version with out missing features.
Then how about making it 25% cheaper for Wii U owners if it lacks a feature or several?…

I’m not surprised. The game doesn’t appeal to the Nintendo demographic. It’s dark, gritty, ultra-realistic, macho, M-rated. This in contrast to Rayman Legends which is colorful and cartoony and probably did much better on the platform.

I really wanted to buy this game, but all of the glitches in Multi player kept me away. thank god for miiverse, it let me know about said glitches.
its simple really, you want a game to sell, then produce a game that isn’t bug filled an almost unplayable, and im not talking about a lack of offline co-op, i mean the terrible online glitches.
Also, i think we can agree that 5000 is considerably low when you consider the miiverse community and the fact that eshop buys arent counted here. Thats how i was going to buy it.
Also want to point out that eb games, or gamestop barely had any copies, and when they did, they only had a couple, so even if people wanted to buy at retail, they couldnt.
funny enough, i also saw more than a few posts on miiverse claiming that gamestop employees were trying to convince people to not buy the wiiu version, saying it was the worst edition and such. one guy took it to the manager and got a $50 credit on his next purchase. now obviously, he could be lying, but i saw multiple posts like that on miiverse. so maybe there’s something to it. if so, thats disgusting, those reps are there to sell games, not persuade people to buy certain versions, unless they are….i dunno, but its ignorant as hell.

Considering how well received Rayman Legends and ZombiU were for Wii U, I can’t imagine the support will be lost from a single game selling about average of what it was to be expected.

I am happy that Ubisoft did Blacklist for Wii U. Now if those sales figures are true then that’s a bit bad.
At least they’re getting some money from it. But at least Ubisoft showed their support for Wii U. I bought the game and it’s an impressive game. Gameplay is spot on.
I will continue to buy their games as they’re putting in the most effort!
OK, the Wii U has sold somewhere around 4 million units, right? And the Xbox 360 and PS3 has sold around 78 millions each. So the install base of the Wii U is roughly 2.5% of that of the other two consoles. Considering the Windows version also sold some units, 2% of total sales is not a bad figure, is it?

Well, that’s wrong. If you log onto shadownet it shows how many people are playing/registered on each system. The Wii U is showing 16000ish. Not a huge amount more however. It must be selling well on the eshop than? Also, that means that the PS3 has only sold less than 28 percent of the sales as well, which according to this would put it at 140000 units, and for a system that has 80 million units on the market that’s a .175% adoption rate… On the Wii U it’s .142% adoption rate, so essentially the same percentage as the PS3. Of course that’s going off the numbers stated by the NPD, but not counting any online purchases apparently.
That also means this game has only sold 500000 pieces of software in total. Kind of a shame as it’s a great game, and very over looked obviously.

Although i really want local coop and its missing on the Wii U version, its still is a very good game. I got my copy day 1 and it is one of the good games I have played recently. Support 3rd parties as much as you can. Yes, it is missing features which really is a bummer. But don’t say its a crap game just as an excuse for poor sales because the game isn’t crap at all. Read the reviews. Play it with someone who owns a copy for a fair amoint of time then decide.

Months ago when Sonydrones kept bashing about Wii U don’t have games. Nintendo fan boys kept on bragging about W101 coming. Now that it’s here, you ain’t bought it.
It irks me that people always complain and find excuses for not buying a good game. Yet in reality, if you look at their game library- there aren’t any at all. You will just see NSMBU, Nintendo Land, Lego City Undercover and Pikmin 3. You won’t even see W101, Batman or Zombi U. Some don’t even own a Wii U and whine (unless you can’t afford it at the moment but I highly doubt that, there were series of sales that happpened). Where do you base your opinions if you haven’t experience it by yourself? SUPPORT A GOOD 3RD PARTY GAME! It will be better for all of us in the end.
i got broad of splinter cell and most 1st persons, i have not played this one yet will see what it is like before i say anything bad about it. all i can say is is about 5000 copies sold in a month in depress i mean that is not even 0.5% i don’t think, it is not surprising that is sold 69% of its sales on Xbox it is the console of the the first person shoot and sports game. but say that i think i might get this game if its any good

Its different from COD where you can just run around shooting people. This one is more stealthy and strategic. Finding an online game is a little bit hard but they recently patched it. It is the first Wii U game that makes use of the gamepad for online chat when you are doing a coop mission or spy vs. mercs so you do not need to buy a headset. The use of gamepad alone through chat makes it really fun. I played a few games where I was instructing the other guy to take on the enemies while I hack the security or where we go separate ways and meet at the extraction point. But everyone has their own tastes so i suggest you go to a friend’s house and try it yourself.
so a bit like thief or hitman you have to figure out how to get through a level without been seen by everyone. sounds fun

i’m pretty sure NDP only follows physical copies sold. Wii U gets most of it’s sales on the eShop something like 60% or more. so yeah only sold 5000 physical but it probably sold 10k more on the eshop. 15k isn’t too bad when you look at it that way
