Super Mario 3D World Will Feature Live Orchestral Music

super_mario_3d_world_bowserLive orchestral music often gets our heart rates pumping, no matter what’s on the game screen in front of us. It’s natural to assume, then, that Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U would tap the same musical path that the Super Mario Galaxy games took in previous years. Luckily, confirmation that a live orchestra features in Mario’s latest outing has surfaced, where lead composer Mahito Yokota told Destructoid that many of the tracks have that “big-band feel” for a splash of colourful drama.

“There are naturally a lot of tracks performed live. We’re arranging the music with a big-band feel, taking advantage of a full horn section with trumpets and saxophones.” – Mahito Yokota

    1. And you imbeciles were saying Sonic Flop World looked better. ROFL! THIS game will be great. Better than any mediocre Sonic shit.

      1. That’s true, actually. It’s just been struggling in Japan lately, but so has the XBOX 360 since day 1, and that sold quite well.

  1. Damn so far the music is amazing. I hope they do a epic final boss theme like galaxy 1 and 2. Does anyone get a Vegas feel when they listen to the second trailer’s music?

    1. Peanut Butter Kit Kat

I’m sure that there will be an MS representative guarding the Nintendo section to ensure that doesn’t happen ; )

  2. The music I’ve heard from 3D World so far has been awesome. Seriously, it’s memorable, catchy and just plain fun to listen to. Those are all qualities that the music in the best Mario games have had. It totally eclipses the somewhat generic tunes from the New Super Mario Bros. series. I’m even more thrilled now that I know it will be orchestrated live. Plus, the saxophone is one of my favorite instruments. I’m so excited for this game!

  3. Galaxy 1 and 2 were awesome, also for 3D land.
Im wondering if the combine the correct music in the correct level or map. They alsways do that corrct.
