Those of you that decide to purchase Pokemon Conquest in North America through GameStop will be entitled to passwords for various Pokemon, which include Emolga, Riolu, Scyther, Lapras, and Pikachu. Gamers who spend 1000 GameStop Power-Up Rewards points will be eligible to receive another five passwords for Larvitar, Axew, Beldum, Sneasel, and Darmanitan. Pokemon Conquest is exclusive to Nintendo DS and is due to be released in North America on June 18th.

Nintendo has released an animated trailer for the forthcoming Pokemon Black & White 2. The game is due to be released in Japan on June 23rd. Nintendo of America and Nintendo Europe have confirmed that the eagerly awaited game will be out during the Fall.

Japanese magazine CoroCoro has revealed some new information about the highly anticipated Pokemon Black & White 2. Images which were posted in the magazine show that you’ll be reunited with some old friends.

The wandering Champion in the original Pokemon Black & White Alder shows up at the start of the game to ask the player to follow him on an exciting and unspecified mission. Cheren will appear as a Normal-type gym leader and Bianca will return as a friend to Professor Juniper who gives you your starter Pokemon at the start of the game.

As expected it has been revealed that one knows exactly where N has disappeared to in Pokemon Black & White 2. Other details include the fact that new Sacred Beast forms of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus will be available in the game. CoroCoro has also announced that we will be seeing a new Professor featured in the game who’s named Professor Burnett.

New details have emerged regarding the Pokemon World Tournament, which will allow you to test your wits against previous gym leaders and champions. Returning figures include the Brock, Misty, Lance, Volkner, Blue, Steven, Janine, Blaine and Giovanni among others. Pokemon Black & White 2 will be coming to North America and Europe later this year.

NPD analyst Anita Frazier has explained that the Nintendo 3DS has outsold the Nintendo DS by roughly 1 million units during their respective first 14 months in the market. Frazer then went on to say that ”the DS went on to become the best-selling gaming hardware system ever.” Nintendo has stated that it has sold around 4.5 million Nintendo 3DS systems in the United States during its first year of availability.

Acclaimed development studio Wayforward has officially confirmed that it’s creating a brand new Adventure Time game for the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo DS. The game is set to be titled Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d you steal our garbage?! The game is under development at Wayforward but the story is from series creator Pendleton Ward. Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d you steal our garbage?! will be out in the Fall.

Finn and Jake wake up one morning to find their trash stolen by the Ice King. Jake couldn’t care less about half-eaten bananas, crumpled up burrito wrappers, and old chicken diapers – but when they find out the Ice King is using their stolen goods to construct a Garbage Princess, the heroes embark on a fantastical adventure to teach him a lesson. Players will control Finn and Jake as they journey through the Land of Ooo.

Pokemon website Serebii is reporting that Pokemon Black & White 2 will utilise Global Link. New features will be added to the website including a rebrand of the Battle Union alongside confirmation that the Dream World will be making a return to Pokemon Black & White 2.

It’s also been revealed that the time cut-off between sessions will reduce from 24 hours to 20 hours. There will also be new areas added, including one that is titled ‘Cool Hole’. There’s also a special feature for those owning the original Pokemon Black & White and the latest addition in the series, though the details have yet to be confirmed.

Development studio n-Space has confirmed that it has no plans to bring the forthcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to handheld platforms. The news will come as a disappointment to many as the developer has a long association with developing handheld entries within the Call of Duty franchise.

Following last month’s announcement of Pokémon Conquest, Nintendo has revealed even more details about the new features available in the game, which launches for the Nintendo DS on June 18th in North America.

Players can look forward to exploring the Ransei region and interacting with Pokémon in an entirely new way as they take on the role of a young Warlord who is linked with a Pokémon. Together they must set out to recruit Warrior allies to strengthen their growing kingdom.

New information includes the following:

• Story: To save the Ransei region from Nobunaga, a powerful Warlord who is trying to take over Ransei, players must conquer different kingdoms to strengthen and grow their own kingdom. There are 17 kingdoms in total to conquer. Conquering all 17 kingdoms and ultimately uniting the kingdom will awaken the Legendary Pokémon and save the land from destruction. Story mode is organized by episodes. Players unlock episodes as they progress and each episode features a different playable Warlord and victory conditions.
• Army Mechanics: Players can grow their army by recruiting defeated Warlords and their Pokémon. After a kingdom is conquered, players will also have access to the kingdom facilities such as training grounds, shops to buy items and mines for money. Players can also strengthen their army by linking with Pokémon. Warlords can have various linked Pokémon and switch between them before battle to strategically prepare for the type of battle they are about to engage in.
• Battle Mechanics: Players will encounter a wide range of battlefields as they progress through the game. Each of the 17 kingdoms has a different type-themed battlefield. For example, in the fire-themed kingdom of Ignis, players can battle around lava flows, lava beds and fire spouts. Strategically using water-type Pokémon to navigate through this battlefield will help players conquer this kingdom. Additionally, players can use the kingdom training grounds to train their army or find wild Pokémon and link with them. After battling with a Warlord, the game automatically registers them. Using the built-in local wireless features of Nintendo DS, players can use their registered armies to battle with friends who also own the game.
• Warlords and Pokémon: Each Warlord has a special ability that can change the tide of battle. For example, Warlord Oichi has the ability to heal all the Pokémon in a player’s army. Also, like Pokémon, Warlords have types that will determine how well they link to particular Pokémon. Some Warlords will have the ability to choose from and link with several different kinds of Pokémon.

Retro gaming fans are in for a treat this Thursday when two classic 80’s games come to the Virtual Console.

The first retro offering is Game & Watch Gallery 2, the Game Boy Color classic, which features a collection of five vintage handheld games including Parachute, Helmet and the original Donkey Kong. Each game is playable in their original 80s version and also in a remastered version featuring enhanced graphics, sound and new gameplay, giving you two different gaming experiences.

Also on offer is one for cat lovers as Cat Frenzy makes its way onto Nintendo DSiWare. In order to save the kittens that are trapped in the well, you will have to Slide rows or columns of cute, cuddly cats to create chains to pull them out of the well. With over 100 levels across two game modes, there is plenty of feline fun to keep you engaged!

Coming to Virtual Console on Wii this week is Super Hang-On, the hit arcade racing sequel to the SEGA classic “Hang-On”. Originally appearing in European arcades in 1987, it will put your street bike skills well and truly to the test through 48 challenging tracks set across four continents. Super Hang-On is retro arcade racing at its very best.

Nintendo has released the worldwide sales figures for a number of popular Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS games. The titles included are The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Pokemon Black & White and Super Mario 3D Land.
