Famitsu has published its readers most wanted games of 2012 and Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online for Wii, and eventually Wii U, has topped the list. There are a total of five games for Nintendo related platforms in the entire top ten. Here’s the games the Japanese are looking forward to playing the most this year:

Due to the unfortunate misspelling of Resident Evil: Revelations on North American retail copies of Resident Evil: Revelations, Capcom has revealed that it will be sending out replacement covers free of change to those that have managed to snag one of the misspelt sleeves. Capcom has also announced that all future copies of Resident Evil: Revelations will have the correct spelling on the sleeves.

As you may well have heard by now, the title of Revelations is indeed misspelled on the spine of the game box (as “Revelaitons”). Unfortunately, the initial North American shipment of the game will reflect this error, but we just got confirmation that subsequent shipments of the title are being repackaged to have the correct spelling. Meanwhile, customers who have received the misspelled version can contact our Customer Service line at 650-350-6700 or by email at accounts@capcom.com and we’ll send you a new insert for your case. Online gaming publication Games Beat has revealed that Sony issued a Wii U like patent during 2010. The patent is Titled Position-Dependent Gaming 3-D controller, and Handheld as a Remote. Here’s a brief description of the intriguing patent which bears a striking resemblance to what Nintendo has proposed with Wii U:

Methods and systems for using a position of a mobile device with an integrated display as an input to a video game or other presentation are presented. Embodiments include rendering an avatar on a mobile device such that it appears to overlay a competing user in the real world. Using the mobile device’s position, view direction, and the other user’s mobile device position, an avatar (or vehicle, etc.) is depicted at an apparently inertially stabilized location of the other user’s mobile device or body. Some embodiments may estimate the other user’s head and body positions and angles and reflect them in the avatar’s gestures.

THQ has announced to investors that it’s delaying Metro: Last Light for Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC to early 2013. THQ also announced that Darksiders 2 will be released during the summer for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, but wouldn’t specify exactly when we will see the game on Wii U. Darksiders 2 has already been announced as a launch title for Wii U, so expect it later this year.

Nintendo Europe has announced that it’s bringing Kirby’s Block Ball to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. Kirby’s Block Ball is very similar to Breakout and will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on the 9th February. Nintendo has yet to announced pricing for the game, but expect it to retail for around £3.50.

THQ has admitted that it took a massive gamble releasing the uDraw tablet on platforms other than the Wii. CEO Brian Farrell confessed that the company sold one million uDraw tablets to retail stores, but the vast majority of the tablets remain unsold to consumers. Farrell estimates that there’s roughly 1.4 million uDraw tablets left sitting in warehouses.

“We were confident that uDraw would resonate again this holiday, given last year’s robust sell-through. Our confidence was misplaced.”

High Voltage, the development studio behind The Conduit has announced that it’s the latest developer to sign up for the Wii U. High Voltage wouldn’t reveal exactly what they’re working on, but hopefully we shall see the fruit of their endeavours at this years E3 event in Los Angeles during June.

Nintendo has revealed precisely what you can get this month with your hard-earned coins on Club Nintendo. Firstly, you can claim DSiware Art Academy: First Semester which is available for 150 Club Nintendo coins. The second reward that’s available is the Nintendo Card Case which was revealed a few months ago. The Card Case can hold up to 18 games and comes with replacement double-sided covers, and can be yours for 250 coins. Oh, and if you’re looking for Mario Party 2 then that can be yours for 150 coins.

Marvelous AQL, the developers behind the Harvest Moon franchise have revealed that Japanese model Miho Tanaka will be the image girl for the forthcoming Harvest Moon 3DS. Miho will appear on numerous television commercials and print adverts for Harvest Moon 3DS which is due for release in Japan on February 23rd.

Take Two has told investors that the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V is currently making good progress. Rockstar has yet to announce which platforms the next instalment in the Grand Theft Auto series will be appearing on, but it’s widely speculated that it could come to Wii U given Rockstar’s previous support to Nintendo platforms.
