Neko Entertainment, the developer behind Kung Fu Rabbit and Puddle, has announced that it will be bringing The Mysterious City of Gold to both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS –  under the supervision of Flaoua. Few details regarding the game have been made public; however, we do know that it based on the anime television series The Mysterious City of Gold, and that it will allow players to switch among three heroes – Esteban, Zia and Tao – during gameplay. The game is scheduled to release in the fall.

Namco Bandai Games today released a Project X Zone demo on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS in Europe. The demo is called “Lethal Surprise” and features characters from Cyberbots, Sakura Wars, Space Channel 5 and Valkyria Chronicles. It was revealed today that Europe will be getting another demo of the game, titled “Dark Hours,” on June 27th. Project X Zone launches in Europe on July 5th and in North America on June 25th. Namco Bandai Games has yet to announce when North America will receive the two demos.

Jason Schreier, one of the writers over at Kotaku, has confirmed that Nintendo will be holding a Pokemon X & Y presentation and question & answer session at E3 next month. The presentation will apparently be for an hour and a half and will begin at 6pm PT on June 11th. It’s not clear if this is going to be a roundtable event like we have had previous years.

EA announced today that it is currently developing a new Need for Speed game which is titled Need for Speed: Rivals. The company has told Eurogamer that the game won’t be coming to the Wii U. EA says that the reason behind this decision is that the impressive Frostbite engine isn’t really set up for Wii U. Need for Speed Rivals will come to current generation platforms on November 19th. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are will be coming sometime later this year.

“Yeah, Frostbite is not really set up for Wii U. I don’t have all the information, so it wouldn’t be right for me to speak about it. Frostbite 3 is a really capable engine, it’s scalable and it gives us a big advantage on the next generation to support the Xbox One and the PS4, but it’s not being developed on the Wii U.”

Nintendo Europe and Nintendo of America today announced a new global edition of Nintendo Direct. The broadcast will provide updates about future Wii U games and will be streamed from the Nintendo Direct website on 11^th June at 3pm UK time and 7 a.m. PT.

Amazon UK has put up a listing for Earthbound for Wii U and has priced it up at £44.99. This could be a simple mistake by the popular online retailer, or we could see Nintendo release the entire Mother series on the Wii U. Alternatively, Nintendo could be planning an HD entry in the Earthbound series for Wii U, but this seems fairly unlikely. Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer has told Polygon that the company is preparing to reveal a historic Rare franchise for the newly unveiled Xbox One at this year’s E3 event in June. Spencer wouldn’t give any hints regarding which franchise he is referring to, but Rare clearly have a legendary back catalogue of games. Which Rare IP would you like to see revitalised for the Xbox One?

“Fans of Rare and Rare IP I think will be pleased with what we’re going to show at E3. We had a limited amount of time today and a lot of story to tell. But Rare remains an incredibly important part of our development capability. That historic IP that they’ve built I think can play a real important role on Xbox One.”

Due to the attack, Capcom UK’s event – which was to see a 16ft by 32ft swimming pool filled with a specially concocted blood dye combined with human torso floats – will no longer be going ahead this weekend on May 25 and 26 at London’s Jupiter Wharf. A Capcom UK spokesperson had the following to say this morning:

“In light of yesterday’s sad events we’re cancelling our Revelations pool event. Thank you for your understanding.”
