Famitsu has published its readers most wanted games of 2012 and Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online for Wii, and eventually Wii U, has topped the list. There are a total of five games for Nintendo related platforms in the entire top ten. Here’s the games the Japanese are looking forward to playing the most this year:

Heading up the list is Dragon Quest X which is due for release on both Wii and Wii U sometime later this year. As you can see from the list below Dragon Quest X for both the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS is the most wanted game of 2012 thus far with Dragon’s Dogma for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 trailing just slightly behind.

Japanese gaming publication Famitsu quizzed its readers and asked what hardware and software they plan on buying this holiday season. Readers were allowed to select three pieces of hardware and three pieces of software.

For hardware the PlayStation Vita came out on top with 374 votes, beating the 3DS and its 297 votes. PlayStation 3 came in at third with 72 votes. In the software vote, 3DS came out on top, with Monster Hunter 3G grabbing 236 votes and Mario Kart 7 162 votes.

Famitsu will apparently be publishing a feature for the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3D in next weeks issue. The next issue of Famitsu officially hits on the 24th so expect to hear all the details online a couple of days before it hits news-stands in Japan. Revered Japanese gaming publication Famistu has awarded The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword a perfect 40/40. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the third Zelda game to receive 40/40 from Famitsu after the legendary Ocarina Of Time and Wind Waker.

Respected Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has awarded Super Mario 3D Land an impressive 38/40. Four reviewers mark the game out of ten and then they give the game an accumulated score out of 40. In Super Mario 3D Land’s case two reviewers gave the game a nine, whilst the other two reviewers gave the game a ten.

Japanese gaming publication Famistu has printed its readers twenty-five most wanted games spanning across all platforms. You’ll notice that the top ten has a large percentage of quality Nintendo related titles such as Mario Kart 7 and Monster Hunter Tri G. Should be a great holiday season for Nintendo in Japan.

Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has conducted a survey to find out exactly what retailers believe will be the number one selling console this Christmas. The console that retailers thought would do best during the holiday season is the Nintendo 3DS by a decent margin. Clearly games such as Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land won’t hurt the console.
