Nintendo 3DS Blows Away The Competition In Japan

This weeks Media Create and Enterbrain sales figures are in from Japan and once again they clearly show that the Nintendo 3DS is trouncing the competition in the land of the rising sun. The Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling piece of hardware in Japan selling 67, 558 units, while five of the top ten games were either on the Wii or the Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo 3DS Is The Fastest Selling Console During The First Ten Months In Italy, 72% Of Handheld Market In 2011

Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo 3DS is the fastest selling console during the first ten months in Italy. According to the press release issued by Nintendo 243,700 Nintendo 3DS consoles were sold in the first 44 weeks after the launch, in comparison the Nintendo DS and the Wii sold 108,000 and 63,600 units respectively. Also of interest is that Nintendo had 72% of the handheld market in Italy during 2011.

Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo 3DS Is Still Sitting Pretty At The Top Of The Japanese Charts For A Third Week

The Nintendo 3DS continues to sit at the top of the Japanese hardware chart for the third consecutive week. Nintendo managed to sell a respectable 60,781 units putting it ahead of Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. However, there does appear to a drop in sales for the 3DS as it managed to sell 196,077 units two weeks ago when the price drop came into effect.

Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo 3DS Sales Drop By 50% After News Of Price Cut

It was inevitable that Nintendo 3DS sales were going to drop after the sudden announcement of a price cut but a 50% drop in sales is rather harsh. Sales for the PlayStation Portable inexplicably surged after the news from 26,868 units from July 11-17 to 36,666 units in the July 18-24 time period. However, you can rest assured that once the price cut takes effect sales for the Nintendo 3DS will go through the roof.

Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo 3DS Sales Have ‘Slowed Considerably’ Since Launch Says Analyst

Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian has told online gaming publication Industry Gamers that he believes sales for the Nintendo 3DS have slowed down considerably since the console launched at the end of March.

“Based on our recent checks, we believe that sales of the 3DS have slowed considerably since the initial launch window, although the Easter holiday could provide a near-term boost,”

Nintendo 3DS: The Nintendo 3DS Obliterated The Competition In March According To Industry Analyst

Famed industry analyst Michael Pachter has told investors that the Nintendo 3DS decimated the competition in hardware sales last month.

Micheal Pachter has revealed that Nintendo sold 500,000 3DS consoles during March while Microsoft’s Xbox 360 sold 480,00 units and the Nintendo Wii shifted 410,000 units. Sony only managed to sell 380,000 PlayStation 3 consoles. Good news for Nintendo then.
