DLC Coming This Summer To Wii U’s Injustice: Gods Among Us

The Wii U console’s version of Injustice: Gods Among Us doesn’t support downloadable content just yet. And the first playable DLC character, Lobo, was released today on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. But Wii U owners have to wait a bit until they are given the opportunity to play with him, as the game’s DLC should be available in the Nintendo eShop this summer.

It was pipped to the post by its tough competitors Injustice: Gods Among Us – which is to be released for the Wii U in Europe later this week – and Bioshock Infinite. In fact, Fire Emblem even bested Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon by debuting two places higher than our favourite green-suited plumber, which originally climbed in at number 5. But Luigi is still hanging in the top 10, taking a firm footing in at number 8. Here’s the lowdown on the all-formats chart:

Wii U Version Of Injustice: Gods Among Us Excludes Feature

Injustice: Gods Among Us launched yesterday in North America on Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A free-to-play iOS version of the fighting game was released on April 3rd, and players who download it will be able to unlock content for two of the three home console versions. According to Siliconera, although it includes unique features like off-TV play, the Wii U version of Injustice: Gods Among Us doesn’t support the unlocking of content via the game’s iOS variation.

injustice_gods_among_us_wii_u_box_artInjustice: Gods Among Us for the Wii U was set to release along with the Xbox and PlayStation versions on April 19 in Europe, but due to an unforeseen reason, retailers are now listing the Wii U version as delayed until next week. UK retailers GAME, Grainger Games and Amazon, now have the action brawler down as an April 26 launch, so it looks like Nintendo Wii U holders will have to wait an extra week to see their favourite heroes and villains fight it out. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have released the official launch trailer for the forthcoming Injustice: Gods Among Us. The action packed title launches next week on 19th April for Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The trailer gives us an insight into the game’s storyline which features DC Comics most popular heroes and villains choosing their sides. CVG has uploaded the latest trailer for Injustice: Gods Among Us, which is an upcoming fighting game from developer NetherRealm Studios – the creator of Mortal Kombat. The new trailer confirms that Superman’s archenemy, supervillian Lex Luthor, is a playable character in the game. Injustice: Gods Among Us will launch in North America on April 16th and in Europe on April 19th, and it will be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii U.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced the DC Comics fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us will be launching on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U on April 16th in North America. Warner Bros also announced that two special edition versions will be made available. The first special edition is called Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Edition which will retail for $150. The second special edition is the Injustice: Gods Among Us premium bundle which is a $100 Collector’s Edition. Injustice: Gods Among Us will launch in Europe on April 19th.

Update: Apparently the Wii U won’t be getting the collectors edition, so you’ll have to make do with the standard edition I’m afraid.

A recent trailer confirms that supervillain Deathstroke the Terminator is a playable character in WB Games’ upcoming fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Note that the trailer above also shows the Wii U logo toward the end. The game is scheduled to launch April 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the new Wii U.
