Mario Kart Arcade GP DX is due to head to western arcades soon.
Mario Kart Arcade GP DX is due to launch in western arcades this winter. According to Arcade Heroes, Namco Bandai and Nintendo are showcasing the third arcade instalment – which was released in Japan in July – at the IAAPA 2013 trade show taking place in Orlando, Florida.
Featuring ten courses and taking inspiration from Mario Kart 7 by introducing gliders, Mario Kart Arcade GP DX has the core characters on board, as well as Pac-Man and Don from the Taiko no Tatsujin series. The game also contains two new modes: Alter-Ego gives players the opportunity to race against ghost players and Team Mode gives it a Double Dash feel by allowing two players to race against AI players.
Nintendo and Namco Bandai have announced that they have teamed up together to bring Mario Kart back to arcades in Japan. The new Mario Kart game is titled Mario Kart: Arcade GP DX, and is due for release in Japan sometime later this year. Mario Kart: Arcade GP DX appears to take inspiration from recent Mario Kart titles including Mario Kart 7, as it also includes gliders. Other modes listed by Namco Bandai include a single-player Grand Prix mode, two-player Co-op, “Clone Battle” mode and a competitive mode, which will support up to four players.
