Nintendo Says It Has No Plans To Sell 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro At Retail

The Nintendo 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro is now being sold in North America. The device is priced at $19.99, adds a second Circle Pad and an extra set of shoulder buttons to the handheld console. For now, the only way to purchase the device is through Nintendo’s online store, as the company confirmed to Joystiq that it currently has no plans to sell the Nintendo 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro at retail.

The item is available to purchase, but it won’t begin shipping until April 19th. The Circle Pad Pro XL is compatible with games such as Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Will you be purchasing one?

However, it turns out that the retailer will actually sell the limited edition system for $170, but it will come with a $20 gift card. The Pikachu Edition Nintendo 3DS XL and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity come out today in North America. Do you plan on picking one up first thing in the morning?

It looks like consumers will be able to purchase a discounted Pikachu Edition Nintendo 3DS XL, if they act fast. The limited edition system launches in the U.S. on March 24th at a suggested retail price of $199.99, but it appears as though retailer Toys “R” Us will sell it for $149.99 until March 30th. The Pikachu Edition Nintendo 3DS XL comes packaged with a 4GB SD Card and launches on the same day as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity.

He or she also claims that the limited edition console will be released in North America on March 24th. This rumor cannot be confirmed yet; however, keep in mind that earlier today, The Pokémon Company teased that ‘exciting news’ for Pikachu fans is coming tomorrow to North America.

NA Commercial For Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates To Infinity Features Pikachu 3DS XL Console

Nintendo of America has uploaded a new television commercial for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity for the Nintendo 3DS. One of the interesting things about the well produced advert is that one of the actors is using the limited edition Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL console. Nintendo of America has yet to confirm whether the Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL is coming stateside. Hopefully we shall get an official announcement fairly soon.

The limited edition portable game console will come pre-installed with Shin Megami Tensei IV, which launches on May 23rd in Japan. There’s no word on whether the bundle or role-playing game will come to the West. Nintendo and Atlus are also teaming up on a crossover for Wii U; Shing Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, which will feature characters from both series, is in development for the Wii U console.
