Mariel Cartwright, who has worked on a number of projects including Scott Pilgrim vs The World and Skullgirls, has revealed in the latest edition of Nintendo Force magazine that the game is unlikely to come to the Wii U. While Cartwright admits that there’s plenty of diverse indie titles on Nintendo latest home console, she’s not entirely sure if the game would be a good fit for the platform.
“Probably Skullgirls, since we’re still working on it! But the chances are very low for that, I’m afraid. I’m not a programmer, but there are some technical hurdles we’d have to overcome, as well as uncertainty as to whether or not there’s a market for a hardcore fighter on Wii U. The lineup of indies is getting more and more diverse on Nintendo consoles though, so I wouldn’t say it’s impossible.”
Mutant Mudds and Bomb Monkey developer Renegade Kid is working on a new first-person shooter, according to the first issue of Nintendo Force magazine. The game will be released in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS holiday 2013. Renegade Kid is also working on a title for the Nintendo eShop on Wii U – Mutant Mudds Deluxe, which is an upgraded version of the original Mutant Mudds, features additional levels and new enemies.
The Wii U version of Mutant Mudds, titled Mutant Mudds Deluxe, will feature exclusive content, including 20 brand-new levels, another power-up and some new enemies, according to the first issue of Nintendo Force, a new magazine that centers upon games released on Nintendo platforms.
The additional levels in Mutant Mudds Deluxe are filled with ghost versions of old enemies, as well as new ghost creatures. Because the platformer will be released on Nintendo’s new console, its developer and publisher, Renegade Kid, might include Miiverse functionality. Mutant Mudds Deluxe will soon launch in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U.
