Nintendo Wii: Super Mario Kart Imminent For Wii Virtual Console

The release for the original Super Mario Kart is drawing ever-closer, with Nintendo stating the title will be available on the Virtual Console next week.

Pilotwings and Super Smash Bros from the Nintendo 64 are also cited by Nintendo as coming soon to the Wii Virtual Console. Both of these exceptional titles are expected to arrive just before Christmas time.

Nintendo Wii: Next Level Games Interested In New Pilotwings And Punch Out!!

Next Level Games Bryce Holliday, Ken Yeeloy and Chad York sat down with the Official Nintendo Magazine to express their interest in developing a new addition to the much-loved Pilotwings and Punch Out!! franchise.

“I would love to make a sequel. I think with this first product, we wanted to make sure there was a definite, undeniable connection to the original. The sequel would be our opportunity to evolve the franchise further and add some cool, new things.”

Nintendo Wii: Pilotwings Lands On Wii Virtual Console

Pilotwings, the definitive flight game on the Super Nintendo, is set to land on the UK Virtual Console this Friday.

In Pilotwings, you take control of a range of flying machines and complete various challenges to advance through the ranks.

You can jump into a biplane and fly through the floating rings before bringing it down for a pinpoint landing, perform a precision skydive on to a distant ground target, soar silently from a hang glider and catch the thermals or even test the experimental Rocketbelt.

Nintendo Wii: Super Mario Kart Finally Coming To Wii Virtual Console

Whilst fans have suffered an antagonising wait, it appears as though Super Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo is finally coming to the Wii Virtual Console.

According the OFLC website it appears as though Super Mario Kart is scheduled to hit the Wii Virtual Console, with listings appearing for the enamoured title alongside a listing for the original Pilotwings, also for the Super Nintendo.

Nintendo: Exclusive Nintendo News Coming Soon?

Subscribers of the Official Nintendo Magazine received an email today stating that there’s a delay with the next issue as it’s set to contain “exclusive content”.

No word has surfaced as of yet to what this ‘exclusive content‘ might actually be, but as ever, the Internet is ablaze with speculation ranging from a new iteration in the Pilotwings franchise to Nintendo’s next big ‘casual’ title.
