Nintendo Wii: Nintendo Wii Price Cut This Autumn?

ps3wii

Head of American gaming retail chain speculates that consumers should see the Wii’s recommended retail price drop this Autumn.

Dan DeMatteo, head of US gaming store Gamestop, believes that we should see pricing of both the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation 3 drop substantially this Autumn, as he strongly believes both gaming consoles recommended retail prices are overly excessive in the current economic climate.

These hardware prices have stayed up longer in this cycle than in any other time before, and in a very dire economic environment, those two things seem to be mutually exclusive. Put all those things together, I think that there will have to be price cuts in order to get the hardware moving to where it needs to be.

Nintendo DSi: European Nintendo DSi Launch Details

dsi

Now that the American DSi launch date and pricing has been announced, details have now emerged regarding the European launch which will take place two days earlier, April 3rd.

Whilst this is will come as great news for European consumers considering they’re getting it two days before the US release, some will be rather disappointed to learn that the unit will retail for £149.99, roughly thirty pounds more than the American equivalent. Still it’s great to have an official release date for the unit, right?
