
The video that took Youtube by storm depicting a Nintendo employee showing off the features of the Nintendo Wii 2 to developers was actually an extremely successful student project. The students involved with the video were tasked with making a viral video that would generate at least 5,000 views. The video has actually been viewed an incredible 600,000 times since it arrived on Youtube a few days ago. Just goes to show that you can’t believe everything that you see, no matter how convincing it is.

Nintendo Wii 2: The Nintendo Wii 2 (Project Cafe) Control Pad Will Feature A Camera
Sources close to industry publication Develop have disclosed that the control pad for the Nintendo Wii will include a front-facing camera system. The source also told Develop that Nintendo isn’t showing off the technology to all its development partners in a bid to make sure that there’s no unexpected leaks before Nintendo’s E3 press conference. The source also confirmed that the controller has a six inch touch screen, “possibly with a stylus”, as well as a standard button layout.

Footage has apparently leaked from Nintendo’s developer conference that took place yesterday showing the first glimpse of the Nintendo Wii 2. You’ll notice that the console shown in the footage resembles that of the leaked screens we saw roughly a month ago when the console was supposedly known as the Nintendo Stream. Could this be a full blown leak of the system or just a fan made fake?

Judging by Yahoo’s trending topics section it looks as though Wii 2 excitement is reaching fever-pitch with the Wii 2 currently taking the second most popular search term just after pop diva Mariah Carey. I can only imagine what the trending topics section is going to be like after the console has been revealed at this years E3 event next month.

Nintendo Wii: Nintendo Reconfirms That Zelda: Skyward Sword Is Still Destined For Nintendo Wii In 2011
Nintendo has told online trade publication MCV that the company still plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Wii later this year.
There has been a lot of speculation recently about whether Nintendo will move its flagship title to its next generation platform which is set to be revealed at this years E3. Thankfully Nintendo has confirmed that its still destined for Wii and will arrive later this year.

Nintendo Wii 2: Tecmo Koei Hoping To Have Nintendo Wii 2 (Project Cafe) Launch Titles Ready
During Tecmo Koei’s earnings report CEO Yoichi Erikawa stated that the company would ideally like to have have launch titles ready for Nintendo’s next generation console. Erikawa noted that Tecmo Koei is trusted by hardware makers as a third party development studio and as such the company would love to have games ready for the systems launch.
Nintendo Wii 2: Ubisoft Say They Plan To Bring Their Big Franchises To The Nintendo Wii 2 (Project Cafe)
During today’s earnings investor meeting Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot informed attendees that the company plan to “leverage” their PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 projects for Nintendo’s successor to the Wii. The system which is currently referred to as Project Cafe has been confirmed by Nintendo who will be showcasing the console and the games at this years E3.
“The platform Nintendo is coming with is really a fantastic platform. We think it will be extremely successful.”
“What we see is that we will be able to leverage a lot of the work we do for Xbox 360 and PS3 while we create games for the platform.”
“So we will not have to redo completely the games that we create. We’ll be able to use all the capacity the console is giving but also use all the work we do for the other platforms.”

Nintendo Wii 2: Nintendo Wii 2 (Project Cafe) Being Released In Early 2012 According To Majesco
Zumba Fitness developer Majesco may have just unintentionally announced that Nintendo’s successor to the Wii will be released in early 2012.
Majesco, the developer behind the Zumba Fitness games, has stated on their most recent press release that Zumba Fitness 2 will launch on the Nintendo Wii this holiday season and another-to-be-announced platform in early 2012. That soon-to be-announced platform is undoubted Project Cafe which Nintendo will be debuting at E3 next month.

Nintendo: Nintendo Officially Streaming E3 Press Conference
Nintendo will be live streaming their E3 press conference on Tuesday June 7th at 09:00am PDT/12:00pm EDT at the Nokia Theatre.
The conference is set to be a specular one this year with Nintendo preparing to show off its successor to the Nintendo Wii which is currently referred to as Project Cafe. There will also be a whole host of new and exciting software for both the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii to look forward to.
Nintendo: Nintendo Reconfirm E3 2011 Press Conference Date And Time
Nintendo has reconfirmed its E3 2011 press conference date and time and where it will take place.
Nintendo’s press conference begins Tuesday June 7, 2011 at 9am PST at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The conference will be the prime time for Nintendo to show off its confirmed successor to the Nintendo Wii which is currently referred to internally as Project Cafe.
Nintendo will also be showcasing a wealth of Nintendo 3DS software including Super Mario 3D, Mario Kart 3D and Animal Crossing 3D along with a whole host of other games. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Wii will also be making an appearance at the event.
