Mario Kart 7 And Super Mario 3D Land Were The Top Two Best-Selling Games In Japan During 2011

It’s been revealed that both Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land for Nintendo 3DS were the best-selling games in Japan during 2011. Mario Kart 7 sold slightly more than Super Mario 3D Land even though Mario Kart 7 was the last out of the two to be released. Wii Sports Resort took the number 9 spot and Wii Party was placed at number 10.

Nintendo Wii: Wii Sports Resort Outsells Kinect Titles

Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort has been outselling its Kinect competitor, Kinect Sports, in the United Kingdom.

Whilst there’s been a flurry of hype and excessive sales expectations behind Microsoft’s Kinect peripheral it has so far failed to dethrone the Wii with regards to software sales in the United Kingdom.

Nintendo Wii: The Wii Sports Resort Games That Didnt Make It

Whilst Wii Sports Resort is packed full of great mini games there were a few additional ones that didn’t quite make the final cut.

We considered fishing and a water slide activity before deciding on the final twelve events. As for more unconventional concepts, we created a pretty fun prototype of kendama, a traditional Japanese toy, that just didn’t fit the game’s theme.

Wii Sports Resort has scored a whopping 94% in the latest issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine. The gaming publication claims that the title thoroughly showcases what Wii MotionPlus is all about, and is a must-have-title for any Nintendo Wii owner.

Nintendo Wii: Nintendo Reveal Two New Wii Sports Resort Mini Games

Nintendo has revealed two new Wii Sports Resort mini games in its advertising campaign for the aforementioned title.

The first new addition to Wii Sports Resort is the inclusion of  Wii Mini Golf giving you a whole new perspective on the game due in part to the addition of the Wii MotionPlus peripheral. The second new mini game is Wii Table Tennis, which previously appeared in the top-selling Wii title, Wii Play.
