Nintendo: Miyamoto Says 2010 Will Be Great With New Mario, Zelda, Metroid

Legendary games designer Shigeru Miyamoto has gone on record to say that 2010 will be a “really great year” for Nintendo Wii owners.

“This year’s going to be really great for the hardcore Nintendo player, especially with Super Mario Galaxy 2.”

“I really want many households to be able to have a hands-on experience of Mario Galaxy 2. I didn’t have any involvement in Metroid Other M, but it is on its way. And also we are working on the New Legend Of Zelda for Wii.”

Nintendo Wii: Miyamoto Hints Zelda Wii Could Use Wii Vitality Sensor

Shigeru Miyamoto has spoken with GamesTM about the future possibilities of Nintendo’s forthcoming peripheral, the Wii Vitality Sensor.

Whilst only one game has been confirmed for use with the device, Miyamoto is now hinting at the possibility that the next Zelda title for Nintendo Wii will utlize the peripheral in someway.

“Whenever we are going to use any new device it is possible to expand the appeal to those who are new to the videogaming world. At the same time, however, it is also fun to think of ways in which we might apply that new technology to existing forms of gameplay, just like the way we are working on the new Legend Of Zelda together with Wii Motion Plus.”

“As you become more scared, the enemies become even tougher. So maybe you might like to ask me to incorporate the Vitality Sensor into Zelda so that as you become more scared, the enemies become even tougher.”

Nintendo Wii: Zelda Wii Reconfirmed For Late 2010

Nintendo’s Cammie Dunaway recently had the chance to speak to online technology publication Wired regarding Nintendo’s recently released software dates.

During the interview with Wired Cammie Dunaway stated to the publication that it owed her a steak for doubting that new Mario, Metroid and Zelda games would be released in one year.

“One of the things that’s true for Nintendo is that we’re not driven by a calendar for our release dates. When the games are ready to go, when the quality is perfect, that’s when we release.

“We all benefit if we can keep a pretty steady pace, so the development teams have worked hard to make sure that we’ve got a full lineup this year. If you compare the first half of 2010 with the first half of 2009, it’s night and day. And from some of the things that Mr. Iwata has talked about, and that we will talk about at E3, like Zelda, you know that we’re going to have a good back half of the year, as well.”

Nintendo: Nintendo Magazine Says E3 2010 “Better Than Last Two”

British gaming publication, NGamer, has stated on Twitter that Nintendo’s forthcoming press conference at E3 2010 in June will be “better than their last two E3′s glued together.

Whilst the gaming publication hasn’t stated exactly why they believe E3 2010 will be superior to the last two years, common sense would suggest that it might have something to do with Nintendo showcasing the next Zelda title.

Nintendo Wii: New Zelda Wii Details Have Leaked Online

Information regarding the next iteration of the Zelda series for Nintendo Wii has leaked onto the popular Japanese message board, 2chan.

The Japanese message board 2Chan, has reportedly been the source of some infamous gaming leeks with accurate information given during the development stages of Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear 4, Resident Evil 4 and 5, and every Square Enix RPG.

Here’s the full list of information regarding Zelda Wii gathered from the source:

• The game will diverge from the established dungeon-field-dungeon gameplay style (confirmed by Aonuma)

• You can select whether you’re right or left-handed, and Link will have the same handedness as you

• The basic mechanics and gameplay elements are done, and they’re currently working on the story, dungeons and developing characters. Among them are an innkeeper in the town where Link lives and her young son, who looks up to him

• The Mastersword girl is not the master sword, and as of now there are no plans for Link to get the Master Sword in the game. Her name is Aderu (maybe Adelle, but I think might be Adella; Rough translation, can’t be sure), and she’s not your typical companion like Ezlo or Midna, in that she’s rarely there with you. What you see in the piece of concept/promotional art isn’t her real face (this isn’t elaborated on)

• Link’s main weapon is a sword with different unlockable abilities, which Aderu communicates with you through

• Horseback combat is back, with a more intelligent Epona that is better at avoiding obstacles

• The character models for Link, Epona, and the Gorons have all been modified and touched up, but they’re the only ones, suggesting no Zelda or Ganon (or entirely new models for them, it is also possible they just weren’t mentioned for whatever reason..)

• This Link is the Hero of Time (presumably grown up after MM, but he didn’t say)

• There is time travel (again, he didn’t delve into it)

• The game does NOT take place in Hyrule

Nintendop Wii: Next Zelda Game Will Be Perfect Says Reggie Fils-Aime

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has clearly stated that the Zelda team are striving for perfection with the forthcoming Zelda for the Nintendo Wii.

“Right now, it’s still in development, but the key message that Mr Miyamoto and Mr Aonuma are telling us is that it really has to be perfect when it launches — that really is what the Zelda fan is expecting.”

“So for all the Zelda fans out there right now, what I would say is, enjoy Spirit Tracks, and know that the Zelda title for Wii is going to come out when it’s perfect.”

Nintendo Wii: New Zelda Game Has Been In Development For 5 Years?

Online gaming publication, Destructoid, recently came across an old copy of Game Informer from January 2007 which stated that Nintendo were working on a brand new Zelda title specifically for the Wii.

At the time the gaming publication stated that the new Zelda game has been under development in Nintendo HQ for a year already. This means that if the game comes out in 2010, as Nintendo believe, then it’ll place the development time for the project at around the five years mark.
