Speaking to online gaming publication Kotaku, Reggie Fils-Aime has asked gamers what titles they would love to see reworked by different developers for current Nintendo platforms.
“In the same vein of Team Ninja working with Nintendo to re-imagine Metroid,” he asked, “what other developer they’d like to see partner and collaborate with Nintendo? And on what franchise?”

I hesitate to say it, but I’d kinda like to see a more violent Zelda game. I’m not talking over the top or anything, but if we’re talking about re-imagining a series, it seems like the goal is to get pretty far away from the original premise, right?
I’d also love to see a traditional SquareEnix RPG with some familiar faces, sort of like Super Mario RPG.
I don’t think the traditional Mario formula should be messed with much, though. Some things should stay the same.

SquareEnix RPG on the Wii would be awesome..the Wii could certainly use one of those…
They could make some chances to the Mario formula but nothing to big tho.
A re-imagining of Eternal Darkness would be great, especially with the Vitality Sensor unveiled at E3. A new 3D Donkey Kong would be good as well, but not the collect-a-thon that was 64. Oh, and a new on-the-rails Starfox, set ONLY in space and ONLY in an Arwing.

I agree with the mario rpg idea. I think it would be cool if an rpg was made with the kingdom hearts treatment, but with nintendo franchises instead of disney

You’re missing the point.
It’s not about the console the game was on but the company that developed the game and owns the rghts to the franchise.
Capcom makes the RE games and owns the rights.
Reggie is asking what 3rd party developer we,the gamers, want to have working on Nintendo’s own franchises.
Nintendo’s own franchises as in, Mario,Zelda,Kid Icarus,Metroid,Donkey Kong,Ice Climbers,F-Zero,Star Fox,Animal Crossing,Pikmin to name a few.
Resdent Evil is a franchise of Capcom,just like Jet Force Gemini is a francise of Rare and Eternal Darkness a franchise of Silicon Knights.
Personally, I would love to see Kirby get a face lift. Kirby and The Crystal Shards for Nintendo 64 is one of my favorite games but I think Kirby could go in a whole different direction.
I would also like to see a brand spankin’ new Animal Crossing. Maybe another developer could do something different with that game.
Actually, what I would love is a series of franchise crossovers.
I don’t know how many of you played Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but the cutscenes in Subspace Emissary made me think that games with more than one major character in the Nintendo Universe were a viable option.
You’d have to do some weird genre-bending to team up, say Capt. Falcon and Yoshi, but something like Star Fox/Pikmin could work.
Mother/Earthbound
As Key as all those franchises are and as much as i would like to see old games reborn into a phase the likes of which that couldn’t be done due to console and graphical limitations i would have to say F-Zero. It’s a franchise i followed for years and have thoroughly enjoyed each individual game in the series (excluding the GP Legend) and as for the developer to obtain the license i would have to say a new company that way they wouldn’t be severely limited on how they could take the franchise. Sometimes I like to think that they should make a Pikmin game where the pikmin are like bear sized and olimar carries like a gun. haha He could come to the planet only to discover that the pikmin where enslaved by Louie or someone. Then they join him in a great pikmin rebellion.
Something like that….haha
Or even a good 3rd person Pokemon game. Cause Colosseum and the other one did not fit my definition of good.

We already have enough Metroid as it is. Other M looks sexy. How about a multiplayer mode on the next Zelda for Wii?

I would LOVE a really good Pokemon RPG for the Wii…where you actually go out and capture the Pokemon just like in the DS games, just made for the Wii. Maybe like a giant region to region game to end the series…would sell millions! lol
