Nintendo Wii: Reggie Clearly States There Is No Wii HD

Reggie Fils-Aime has clearly stated on Game Trailers TV: Nintendo Special that despite what Michael Patcher has lead us to believe, Nintendo are not going to be releasing a high definition version of the Wii.

“Michael [Pachter] continues to be the only one that believes this is going to happen,” the NoA president told presenter Geoff Keighley.

“I don’t know how forcefully we can say that there is no Wii HD.”

  1. I’d rather they concentrated on the game side of things instead of worrying about looks. The wii succeeded because it was cheap an accessable and doesn’t have several different models. HD should only come in the successor to the wii

  2. duh, i knew there would be no “Wii HD” since the day that rumor started. when has nintendo ever been into the high-tech stuff anyway?

  3. I love wii for the way it is anywaz, and it’s so successful even though it’s not HD. But imagine HD came to wii….WOW expect huge sales

  4. Wii-HD would just up the base cost, and would sell poorly, as everyone already has a Wii. The reason the Wii sold so well id because everyone wanted one. Not just the ‘hardcore’ gamers.

But the ‘casuals’ will not be so quick to pick up a new Wii, not when they can hold on to their Wii that they play from time to time.

Nintendo need to get 3rd Party developers to release some more game, and need to release some great Nintendo games too. Where is my Pikmin 3, Mario Galaxy 2, etc. Nintendo needs to release a big game at least once per quarter. I have not bought a game for Wii since Wii Music came out.
