Nintendo Wii: No New Wii Console To Be Announced In Next Few Months

Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime has clearly stated to BusinessWeek that there won’t be a new Wii console announced during the “coming months”.

“We are confident the Wii home entertainment console has a very long life in front of it,” explained the Nintendo of America President in an interview with magazine, BusinessWeek.

  1. “We are confident the Wii home entertainment console has a very long life in front of it,” To nintendo it does, but me? Not so much. :(

    1. I hear you. My Wii has been gathering dust for over a year now and it’s only saving grace is the Wii Shop Channel and the new Zelda Wii coming out later.

  2. So, will Wii be the first console since the NES to break a five year life cycle?

Also, quite ironically, the fact that Reggie says that there’s no new Wii announcement coming soon makes it 80% more likely that Wii Advanced will be announced tomorrow morning.

  3. “there won’t be a new Wii console announced during the “coming months”.”

That just means that they won’t be announcing a Wii 2. They could still announce a console LIKE the Wii, but expanded upon, (like a different control method/still compatible with the Wii-Mote + Accessories for backwards-compatibility/DVD & Blu-Ray/etc.) and with a different name.

  4. WII 2 the next generation,

WOW, you should see the new WII 2 – the next generation. It is called the “the next generation” I like it name let me think of star trek. Faster better, more fun.
WOW I hope to get a picture soon

    The WII guy
