Nintendo: Nintendo Dominate December NPD Sales Figures

Nintendo have decimated the competition when it comes to December’s NPD figures with the company shifting a massive 3.81 million Wii units and 3.31 million DS units to consumers.

“Wii, Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo DSi combined to sell more than 7 million units in the month of December alone. Clearly there is overwhelming consumer demand for fun games, motion controls and value.

“This remarkable hardware sales surge presents a tremendous software opportunity for Nintendo and its third-party partners for 2010.”

      1. No Internet connection?
Also the attach rate for the Wii isn’t that great. Sure consoles are selling but I own maybe 10 Wii games while I have easily over 50 for my Xbox.
Wii needs to focus on online multiplayer if it wants to survive in the future. Mario Kart is fun but I can’t play Dragon Age or FFXIII on it. That’s a HUGE problem for me.

  1. Ok, yay for Nintendo and all but —> “Clearly there is overwhelming consumer demand for fun games, motion controls and value.” <— NO! THERE WILL NOT BE A DEMAND FOR MOTION CONTROL IN THE NEXT GEN! I am already sick of it! The next portable will be RUINED if it focuses on motion control. Same for the console. I didn't say drop it, just don't focus on it.
