Nintendo Wii: Activision Explain Why GoldenEye 007 Is Wii Exclusive

Activison have explained the reasoning behind developing GoldenEye 007 exclusively for the Nintendo Wii.

“There are a number of different reasons,” said Activision’s Brian Pass as he explained the decision. “One is we have a partnership with Nintendo. It’s a great opportunity. This game was originally on the N64, so there’s the nostalgia factor for people that are Nintendo fans. So we wanted to partner with Nintendo for this.

“The opportunity on the Nintendo Wii platform is huge. There’s roughly 12 million Wiis in North America. But it’s not really a console that a lot of shooter fans are playing on. So we wanted to offer them their own first-person shooter, that’s unique and exclusive to that console.

“We really want to tap in to the nostalgia for Nintendo fans, and take advantage of the opportunity presented by the platform.”

  1. Yeah, whatever, but why can’t they explain the huge mistake in placing Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan..?? huh??? That sucks

      1. No, it probably has more to do with the fact that Daniel Craig is the current Bond.

Even though they did get Sean Connery for From Russia With Love…….I bet Peirce Brosnan is just done with Bond, and Daniel Craig is still going strong

  2. It’s stupid. I spent so many hours of my life playing it on the n64. I still have it in my living room. I will buy it for the wii but I would love it on the ps3, I’d settle for 360, wearing gaming is real where multiplayer is legit. Wii online sucks. Point blank this is a mistake!

    1. really? Have you seen all the crap 3rd party titles at Best Buy for the Wii?

Acti said it best, Wii is not a shooter console and this game won’t change that perception. Acti needs to get it’s “act” together. They’ve lost the music game genre to Harmonix….

  3. dunno if anyone else has seen this, but there are two versions of the game. Regular, and Collector’s Edition, which is significantly higher in price.

Estimated release date (for both): 12/31/2010
    Regular – http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/james-bond-golden-eye-007-nintendo-wii/10147435.aspx?path=96ee720ce15e910e7ff88f79e6bc0035en02

Does anyone know what the difference is? I REALLY don’t want to spend $90 on one game.

    Furthermore, Goldeneye on DS??

    1. Thanks for the info dude. Your post was automatically blocked because of the number of links included, but obviously I’ve approved it : ) BTW the amount of links you can post is now 3 before having the post blocked for approval. I could put it up more but I could end up with a deluge of spam.
