Nintendo 3DS: Japanese Retailer Accidentally Gives Away Nintendo 3DS Release Date?

A recent Twitter update from a third-party accessories maker for the Nintendo 3DS could have accidentally let slip the Japanese release date for the Nintendo 3DS.

“On November 20th, the 11 goods I designed for use with the 3DS will go on sale simultaneously. Those of you buying the 3DS, please buy them while you’re at it! This will be officially announced on the homepage eventually, lol. Best regards.”

  1. Woah. I certainly hope so. I’m just guessing it’s the Japanese release date. Either way, we’ll know for sure in 17 days.

  2. Hmm, what does that spell for America then?

Are they going to play the “release 1-3 months later” card or the “release the next day” card?

    We’ll know very soon.

  3. i dout it. If it is going to be an x-mas release then it will be a month befor. if not then they will wait till march so they know they will have enough so they have huge first sales numbers.

  4. Question: Will the 3DS be the same size as the DSi XL? If it is XL-sized, I will purchase it. If it is standard DS Lite-sized, I will not. Simple.

    1. It will be DSi sized BUT it will have a larger top screen. I know how you feel, after playing on my sister’s DSi XL it’s hard to go back. But I’m totally psyched now. September 29th is when they tell us release AND price. IMA CAN’T WAIT!

  5. @ Awesome_Guy – Well, let’s take a trip back to the past, shall we?

DS actually came out in NA before JP. XD I think there’s more than enough chance we’ll see a holiday release. =D

  6. @ Logan Doe – If I’m not mistaken, at E3 they said it would be a little larger than a DS Lite. There’s a reason why they want it smaller than DSi XL, and maybe I can persuade you into still getting one. They want the 3DS to be the ultimate social handheld gaming console. They want players to be able to take the system anywhere, and interact with other 3DS owners, using the CrossPass system (which transfers bits of data between 3DS systems, even in sleep mode). Here’s a comparison chart between the 3DS and all existing DS/i models, so you can see for yourself the differences.

  8. I would flip out if this were true. I’ve been craving me some SSFIV3DS, along with OOT and SF64. However, I noticed one thing: The tweet is too long. As I’m sure all of you know, tweets can only be 140 characters, and I don’t know of any way around that. The above tweet was, according to my handy-dandy Chrome Extension, 240 characters. If the above was actually two tweets combined into one for our viewing pleasure, then fine, but if not, it has me doubting. But, like someone above said, we’ll all find out the truth on the 29th.

  9. I love playing games like starcraft, wow and more, also you can find a review before you get the game : games2games.info
